Today is HPV Awareness Day! ❤️
HPV is a group of over 200 viruses that are spread by skin-to-skin contact. We can prevent HPV and reduce the risk of HPV-related cancer through increased awareness, vaccination and cervical screening.
What are some things you can do to keep yourself healthy?
- Get vaccinated! Vaccination prior to s*xual contact is the most effective way to protect against HPV and HPV cancers. We offer the HPV vaccine at Bridgercare! It is not included on our sliding fee scale, so if you are concerned about payment, give us a call at (406) 587-0681 to chat through it!
- Testing and screening! There are a variety of tests and exams that your provider might run at your annual wellness exam that screen for HPV. If you are ever wanting to get tested outside of an annual exam, schedule an appointment with us! (: Remember, the most common symptom of an STI is none!
- Use condoms (and get tested between partners)! Condoms are a great way to prevent against HPV, though it's still important to get tested regularly!
