If you or a loved one would like a complimentary virtual consultation regarding airway focused dentistry, we invite you to contact our office.
As dental professionals, we play a critical role in the early identification of sleep apnea and other forms of sleep-disordered breathing in children and adults. Our goal is to help guide you toward appropriate evaluation and treatment so you can achieve better sleep quality and improve your overall health.
During your consultation, we can discuss concerns such as:

- Snoring
- Teeth clenching or grinding during sleep
- Mouth breathing
- Waking up feeling unrested
- Daytime fatigue
- Gasping or choking during sleep

We can also review existing health conditions that may be related to sleep-disordered breathing, including heart palpitations, atrial fibrillation, high blood pressure, and any history of heart attack or stroke.

Many of these symptoms may be connected to underlying airway issues that often go unrecognized. Our team is here to help identify potential causes, provide clarity, and guide you toward the appropriate next steps for improved sleep and long term health.

🦷 Why You Should Replace Your Toothbrush!
Your toothbrush collects bacteria every time you brush, including harmful microbes like Streptococcus mutans (causes cavities) and Porphyromonas gingivalis (linked to gum disease). Over time, worn bristles trap more germs and become less effective at removing plaque.
Bathrooms’ moist environments can also promote bacterial growth, and using the same toothbrush after being sick may increase the risk of reinfection.
The American Dental Association recommends replacing your toothbrush every 3–4 months or sooner if bristles are frayed or after illness.
A fresh toothbrush helps protect your teeth, gums, and overall oral health. 🪥✨

Implant supported hybrids are an ideal solution for edentulous patients, as they are securely fixed in the mouth and do not require adhesives. They offer superior stability, strength, and comfort. February is Receding Gum Awareness Month.
This month is dedicated to increasing awareness and educating patients about this common dental health concern.
Common causes of receding gums include:
• Aggressive tooth brushing
• Clenching or grinding of the teeth
• Gum disease or periodontal disease
To help reduce your risk, maintain regular dental checkups, practice proper oral hygiene by flossing daily, and use an electric toothbrush with a pressure sensor. If you or your dentist suspect clenching or grinding, ask about a custom made night guard for added protection.

Are Dental X-Rays Safe?
This is a common question, and the answer is yes. Dental X-rays are a safe and important tool for diagnosing and monitoring oral health. Modern digital X-rays use very low levels of radiation that can be comparable to the natural exposure from eating about 50 bananas. For comparison, a chest CT scan exposes patients to about 2,800 times more radiation, and a mammogram about 60 times more. Dental X-rays help detect problems early, preventing more serious issues and making the minimal risk well worth the benefit.
