Updated information from our website - we are proud of our heritage:

Our History
Wright Monumental Works has been a trusted name in memorial craftsmanship since 1915. Founded in Bradford, PA by Charles W. Wright, our company’s legacy was embraced by Philip M. Rose in 1933. Since then, the Rose family has proudly continued the tradition of serving families with compassion, skill, and integrity.
As the business grew, Philip’s sons and family members took on essential roles—Philip focused on manufacturing alongside his cousin Michael, while Ralph led sales and his sister Delores managed the office. In 1955, the company expanded to include a sales office in Jamestown, NY, managed by Philip Rose, Jr., furthering our reach and service to the community.

The 1970s marked another milestone when Philip M. Rose acquired Jensen-Haglund Memorials in Jamestown, a respected family business known for its exceptional craftsmanship. Mr. Haglund, though semi-retired, remained on to share his expertise, helping to seamlessly integrate operations and uphold the highest standards.

As the business transitioned to the next generation, Philip Jr. and Ralph took the helm, ensuring the family’s values and dedication to quality endured. In the early 1980s, Ralph’s son-in-law, Steve Lundsten, joined the team at Jensen-Haglund, apprenticing under both John Haglund and Philip Rose, Jr. Steve’s wife, Kim, contributed in the office while raising their family, and in 1999, the couple purchased both Jamestown facilities. Over the years, their children have joined the business, continuing the family tradition.

During the Covid-19 pandemic, the Jamestown sales office at Jensen-Haglund closed, but manufacturing continues at the workshop. All sales now take place at the Wright’s office on 2nd Street in Jamestown, ensuring continuity for our clients.

In July 2023, the Wright Monumental Works family experienced the sudden loss of Steve Lundsten, a dedicated Memorialist for 31 years. Today, his wife Kim and their children continue his legacy, upholding the pride and quality that have always defined our work.

Currently, two of Ralph’s daughters, Kim in Jamestown, NY, and Kelly with her husband, Mark Platko, in Bradford, PA, own and operate the businesses separately, but collaborate closely to provide the best service possible. Generations of our family continue to serve families across Pennsylvania and New York, with most work done within a two-hour radius of our locations. Thanks to technology, we are also honored to assist clients from across the United States.

At Wright Monumental Works, our strong family history and commitment to excellence guide everything we do. We look forward to helping you honor your loved ones with dignity, care, and enduring craftsmanship.

From a pleased customer:

Thank you for the time consulting with me and I am very pleased with your work! David D.

And an email from another happy customer today:

Thank you for all your assistance and kindness in this matter. The marker looks very nice and will honor my sister as she wished. Honestly, I did have to catch my breath a little, it is probably a combination of the beautiful marker and a realization of what it represents. Thank you again sincerely to you and Wright Monumental Works for your dedication to the craft, and the professionalism you have shown to our family. Your efforts, time, and attention are greatly appreciated.
Sincerely, John S.

Sometimes people question why do people get monuments for the cemetery. Here is a good explanation:

The Memorial Ideal

A Monument built of enduring granite or marble, symbolic in design and reverent in purpose, resting in surroundings of peace and beauty, a tribute of respect and honor to the dead, a constant source of inspiration to the living.....
