A huge congratulations to Annmarie Szuminski on receiving the Riley Regan Award, and to Kelly Ann Smith on receiving the EAP of the Year Award.

Averte was proud to be part of the NYPLA panel Getting to YES! Building Ethical & Authentic Connections, where our Global Senior Manager of Strategic Partnerships, Kristin Calderon, MBA, had the opportunity to step into the role of moderator. As her first time moderating a panel, it was an exciting milestone and a strong representation of the leadership, presence, and relationship-building she brings into the field every day.

We want to extend our sincere gratitude to the panelists for their authenticity, openness, and willingness to engage in such an honest and impactful conversation.

A heartfelt thank you as well to New York Professional Liaison Association and their Education Committee for the time, intention, and care that goes into creating spaces like this.

At Averte, we believe in showing up with intention, leading with authenticity, and building connections that truly matter. This week was a beautiful reflection of exactly that šŸ’«

At Averte, residents recently spent time in an arts & crafts session exploring needle felting by bringing birds and nature scenes to life through creativity, focus, and patience. 🐦

These moments go far beyond art. They support mindfulness, build confidence, and provide a meaningful outlet for self-expression which are key components in the healing process. Each piece reflects not just creativity, but progress, presence, and a growing sense of pride. šŸ–¼ļø

Experiential opportunities like this are thoughtfully woven into daily life at Averte, creating space for individuals to reconnect with themselves in ways that feel grounding, supportive, and empowering.

Cheyenne Dunnells has been part of the Averte team for nearly four years, beginning as full-time support staff at the Bradford House before moving into a part-time role while completing her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Southern New Hampshire University in 2020.

Before joining Averte, Cheyenne served as a Behavioral Interventionist at the Clara Martin Center, where she worked with children and adolescents to help them make positive, lasting changes in their lives. In 2024, she stepped into the role of Program Manager at the Bradford House, where she led programming and supported residents in their journeys toward independence.

Now, as Director of Residential Services, Cheyenne draws on her deep understanding of Averte’s mission and her experience in both direct care and program leadership to strengthen community partnerships, expand outreach, and ensure Averte’s services reach those who need them most.

Passionate about helping others lead healthy, confident lives, Cheyenne is also a Certified Personal Trainer and brings that same commitment to personal growth and empowerment into her work at Averte.

Big conversations are happening in New York this month and Averte is proud to be part of it ✨

Averte is honored to share that our Global Senior Manager of Strategic Partnerships Kristin Calderon will be moderating the upcoming New York Professional Liaison Association panel discussion, ā€œGetting to YES!ā€

At Averte, building ethical, authentic relationships isn’t just a strategy, it’s the foundation of how meaningful change happens. Kristin brings this philosophy into every partnership she develops, and this panel will reflect exactly that: how to drive business development while staying deeply rooted in integrity and human connection.

On April 22nd, she will be joined by an exceptional group of industry leaders who are shaping the future of behavioral health collaboration:

• Jo Venturelli (Seafield Center)
• Ben Mushlin (Searchlight Therapy)
• Aynisa Leonardo (Water Gap Wellness)
• Sarah Church (Wholeview Wellness)

Together, this panel will pull back the curtain on what it really takes to create sustainable, values-driven partnerships in today’s landscape.

For those in the New York City area, Averte would love to see you there for what promises to be a high-impact, insight-driven conversation at the The Social Club.

There’s something powerful about bringing the right people together in the right setting ✨

What an incredible evening of clinical networking at 230 Fifth Rooftop Bar, a space that continues to set the tone for meaningful connection in the heart of Manhattan.

Averte was proud to have Kristin Calderon representing the team, thoughtfully cultivating relationships and creating space for authentic, face-to-face dialogue among clinicians and partners. Her ability to bring warmth, intention, and strategy into every room is a reflection of the humanistic approach that defines Averte’s outreach.

A sincere thank you to the dedicated clinicians and partners who joined us in the rooftop igloo. While the guest list was intentionally intimate, the depth of connection and collaboration made a lasting impact, the kind that strengthens our professional community in all the right ways.

On behalf of Averte, it was a privilege to co-host alongside Spruce Mountain, Gould Farm, New Vitae, and Clark’s Manor. Partnerships like these are what continue to move the field forward šŸ¤

And this is just the beginning. Averte is already looking ahead with excitement to hosting more rooftop events across Manhattan this year. There’s nothing quite like bringing great minds together under the skyline šŸ™ļø

Our Global Senior Manager of Strategic Partnerships, Kristin Calderon, had an incredible experience last month visiting Lori Shore and Peter Walsh at Williamsburg House!

At Averte, we believe that the environment is a cornerstone of the healing process. Kristin was truly blown away not just by the thoughtful design of the program itself, but by the intentionality behind the physical space. The rooms are designed with such care; they genuinely feel like a home, providing the comfort and dignity so vital for recovery.

A huge thank you to the team for the wonderful tour, the lunch, and the top-tier hospitality. We are energized by the work you're doing and look forward to our continued collaboration! šŸ¤

On behalf of the entire team at Averte, we want to send a huge thank you to everyone who joined us for the NJ EAPA meeting last month at Rutgers! It was a privilege to connect with 30 of you in person and have another 15 join the conversation virtually.

At Averte, we believe that a strong community is the foundation of a better continuum of care for adults. We hope everyone enjoyed the lunch and the opportunity to reconnect with colleagues across the field.

A special shout-out to our VP of Operations, Shanna Meyer, MA, LCMHC, MT-BC, CYT for her incredibly insightful presentation. It was inspiring to see her spark such high-level engagement and passion around these vital topics.

A special thank you to our Global Senior Manager of Strategic Partnerships Kristin Calderon, MBA, also membership chair for NJ EAPA, for coordinating this presentation with the New Jersey chapter.

Thank you to each of you for the tireless work you do for the community. We're honored to be part of this network.

If you’re interested in having Shanna bring this insightful presentation to your team or organization, we’d love to connect. Please reach out to us to coordinate!
