River Valley Special Recreation Association We provide community-based Therapeutic Recreation to individuals with disabilities or special needs. The R.V.S.R.A. Office Hours M-F 8:30 am-4:30 pm

is an association formed by member agencies to provide community-based Therapeutic Recreation to individuals with disabilities or special needs. Member agencies provide the primary source of operational revenue through a property tax levy available to the Park Districts who have entered into a cooperative agreement. Our member districts are: Bourbonnais Township Park District, Kankakee Valley Park District and Limestone Park District. The SRA views itself as a completion of the commitment of each associating Park District's responsibility to serve all its citizens including individuals with special needs.

At River Valley Special Rec, our participants are the heart of everything we do. Each month, we’ll be highlighting one amazing individual who brings joy, positivity, and FUN to our programs.

We’re excited to kick things off by recognizing our very first Participant of the Month: Steve Weith! 🎉

Steve has been part of the River Valley Special Rec family since 1989 — talk about dedication! His favorite treat is Jello cake, his playlist features Tammy Wynette, Dolly Parton, and Kenny Rogers 🎶, and his favorite programs are arts & crafts, where his creativity really shines.
