River Valley Special Rec creates inclusive opportunities for people with special needs to have fun and find fulfillment. The R.V.S.R.A.

is an association formed by member agencies to provide community-based Therapeutic Recreation to individuals with disabilities or special needs. Member agencies provide the primary source of operational revenue through a property tax levy available to the Park Districts who have entered into a cooperative agreement. Our member districts are: Bourbonnais Township Park District, Kankakee Valley Par

k District and Limestone Park District. The SRA views itself as a completion of the commitment of each associating Park District's responsibility to serve all its citizens including individuals with special needs. Office Hours M-F 8:30 am-4:30 pm

Our group had a wonderful time exploring the collections and learning from our fantastic tour guides, Brandon and Kimberly.

We are now accepting scholarship applications for our summer programs! ☀️

Eligible participants may receive up to $300 per year in financial assistance to help make programs more accessible.

Scholarships are available to in-district residents only, including those living within the boundaries of Bourbonnais, Kankakee, and Limestone Park Districts.

Scholarship applications are available on our website or can be picked up at our office.

Our participants had a wonderful time in the kitchen with Tracy as she shared her famous lasagna recipe! 🍝👩‍🍳

Everyone enjoyed learning new cooking skills, working together, and best of all—each participant got to take home a delicious plate of homemade lasagna to enjoy!

A special thank you to Rustic Roots Salon for helping make our recent Treat Yourself Event so memorable!

Our participants enjoyed being pampered with cuts, washes, and styles, along with the fun of decorating cookies 🍪🎨. It was truly a night filled with smiles, confidence, and self-care.

Our Club Tuesday crew had a blast celebrating April Fools’ Day! 🎉😄

Participants kept the “tricks” coming all day long. One highlight? “Brownies” made out of construction paper… and pot pies that turned out to be a sweet (and very tasty!) dessert surprise!

River Valley Special Rec and Olivet are teaming up for another exciting season! Participants can sign up for one sport or try them all! Each session is led by ONU coaches and student-athletes and gives participants the chance to learn skills and have fun alongside the pros. (All sessions will be held at ONU.)

Register for one or all of the following athletic programs:
XC/ Track- Tues, April 14th from 7:00- 8:00 PM
Women's Basketball- Thurs, April 16th from 7:00- 8:00 PM

This program is for children and adults ages 6 and up. Children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
