PrepMD trains and places candidates coming from different educational and professional backgrounds in highly rewarding and satisfying cardiac clinical specialist careers. Our world-class faculty, award-winning facility, and strong clinical partnerships and industry connections lead to exceptional training, high placement rates and high paying jobs for our participants.
Through our intensive 24-week program, our participants are able to pursue these high-demand careers within the medical device industry as well as the healthcare sector. The primary responsibilities of cardiac clinical specialists include supporting implantation and ensuring ongoing functionality of complex CRM devices such as pacemakers and ICDs, or performing 3D mapping of the heart and guiding the physician during complex EP procedures such as ablations and cryotherapy. These individuals are considered experts in the field and are often responsible for training physicians and hospital staff.
Cardiac medical device specialists have an ability to pursue one of many career paths. They can continue to grow in their clinical jobs and become a senior clinical specialist, trainer or a clinical manager, or they can move into medical device sales roles and eventually into sales or marketing management roles. They are also able to move into medical device research and product development roles if that’s their area of interest.
PrepMD offers 3 sessions a year, enabling interested candidates to pursue this rewarding career whenever they are ready! For the hiring managers, this gives access to highly qualified and well-trained individuals through out the year. First 9 weeks of the program comprises of online curriculum and can be done by the participants while working part-time. During the remaining 15 weeks, the participants do hands-on training at our award-winning facility in the Boston area followed by clinical rotations at Harvard, Tufts, Boston University and UMass Amherst affiliated medical centers in the region. We then place our participants across the U.S. based on their geographic and industry (medical device vs. healthcare) preferences. We boast 98% placement rate and the average overall compensation of our students is $84K.
