A personal story, a powerful reminder, and an invitation to celebrate radical self-care.
Hey Pretty Little Butterfly,
Pinktober is always a powerful reminder of why sisterhood, awareness, and self-care matter so deeply. As we close Breast Cancer Awareness Month, I want to take a moment to honor the beautiful souls we’ve lost far too soon to this terrible disease. My heart goes out to every woman who has faced this fight.
Here’s a sobering truth: Black women are about 40% more likely to die from breast cancer than white women, even though we’re diagnosed at similar rates. Early detection saves lives and that starts with listening to your body and getting screened.
I’ll be honest with y’all… this month hits close to home for me. My mom is a breast cancer survivor still overcoming obstacles associated with her past diagnosis. And, no joke, a few months back I saw some unusual discharge coming from my ni**le. That shook me. I went straight to my physician and was immediately referred for a mammogram.
Praise God, my results came back negative and mom is recovering well, but these experiences keep me on high alert. They remind me that our bodies speak to us and we can’t afford to ignore the signs.
Please, sis, don’t wait for a certain age or an insurance guideline to decide it’s time to get checked. If something feels off, it’s worth getting looked at. Your peace of mind and your life are worth it.
Radical Self-Care in Real Time
As we wrap up this month of awareness and step into the season of gratitude, I’m filled with joy thinking about what’s ahead. The Giving Grace Retreat is happening on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at 1 PM at A Plain Vision Event Center and y’all this is going to be a whole blessing.
We’ve come such a long way since announcing this beautiful experience:
✨ Every vendor slot is filled.
✨ Our volunteer team is ready to pour out love and service.
✨ Food and beverage donations are rolling in.
✨ Nearly half of our seating capacity is already reserved!
And to top it off, the awesome owners of Panoramic 360 (https://www.weddingwire.com/biz/panoramic360-photo-booths/fbb6373f941e07fe.html) have donated a photo booth experience so we can capture every moment of joy and connection.
This Retreat is all about radical self-care, grace, and community—especially during a time when the world is as heavy as it is. We’re gathering to remind one another that we are worthy of softness, peace, and joy.
We still have room for more guests and continuing to welcome food, dessert, and beverage donations. If your heart feels called to get involved, whether by attending, giving, or volunteering, click below to learn more.
We are the generation that breaks cycles, leads with love, and lives in alignment...and that, Sis, is something worth celebrating! Let’s keep giving grace, honoring our health, and pouring love into ourselves and each other.
With Love & Light,
Cassie💗
