A theme in sessions lately has been identifying the inner messages that we carry throughout our lives… These are our most deeply held beliefs about who we are. They can drive our thoughts, actions, and feelings, usually without us even realizing it.
“I’m not ______ enough”
“I’m responsible for ______”
“I won’t be loved if _____”
“I can’t _______”
These beliefs are learned early in our lives and color how we see ourselves. If we learn to identify these harmful messages, we can slowly replace them with the truth.
What would change for you without those internal messages holding you back? Part of our work in therapy is learning to see ourselves as we actually are, with clarity from anything that no longer serves us.
