At New England Woodcraft, craftsmanship has always been at the heart of what we do. For over 50 years, we’ve built high-quality wood dormitory furniture with care, integrity, and a deep respect for tradition.

Today, we’re proud to share a new chapter in our story:

We are now 49% employee-owned.

This transition to an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) means that every person who helps design, build, and deliver our furniture is now an owner in the company. It’s a natural extension of the values we’ve always held—collaboration, pride in our work, and a shared commitment to excellence.

What This Means for You, Our Customers:

- Same trusted quality, now with even more passion behind every piece.
- A stronger, invested team, working together to ensure your satisfaction.
- A long-term commitment to our employees, our customers, and our Vermont community.
We believe that when employees have a stake in the company, everyone benefits—from our team to our clients to the environment we all share.

Thank you for being part of our journey. We look forward to continuing to serve you—with craftsmanship, care, and now, shared ownership.

Last week we hosted the Vermont Wood Works Council at our facility in Forest Dale, Vermont. Around 30 members of the council took a tour of our facility, the largest of its kind in Vermont. It was wonderful to see everyone. Check out the article in today's copy of The Brandon Reporter.

To a certain kind of person—someone as fascinated with woodworking as kids are with candy—the machine shop at New England Woodcraft (NEW) must seem like W***y Wonka’s Chocolate Factory: a place of endless bustle and wonder.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our founder, Harmon F. Thurston.
Harmon, alongside his wife Maxine, started New England Woodcraft in 1960 in their one-car barn and expanded the company into what it is today, one of the leading contract furniture manufacturers in the United States, providing furniture to our students and soldiers in universities and military bases worldwide.
Harmon was a leader, friend and mentor to many and will be greatly missed by his family and the employees here at New England Woodcraft.
Despite our hearts heavy with sorrow, we are committed to upholding and honoring the legendary standards that were and have always been the hallmark of this company.
Missed, but not forgotten. Not present, but always here. May he rest in peace.
