72 Hr Fast - 2 Days Out

As you continue increasing hydration and eating less carbs/sugars, you should also add in more bone broth.

It helps heal gut issues, provides easily absorbed vitamins and minerals and is very gentle on the GI system. As our body prepares for a fast, it's important to support the gut and give the gut some extra healing at this time.

72 Hr Fast Prep - 3 Days Out

As you eliminate simple carbs and sugars, you will now want to really increase your water intake.

I'm a huge fan of water with natural minerals in it. The minerals will allow your cells to absorb the water and will keep you hydrated versus non mineral water. I love . Drinking one bottle a day PLUS regular filtered water will keep you feeling amazing!

Aim for half your body weight in ounces of water daily. (ie: 120lbs = 60 ounces of water daily)

I also really like adding additional electrolytes as well. A scoop of is a wonderful product for a dose of electrolytes. I'll do this to my first bottle of water in the morning to really help rehydrate my body after sleep.

72 Hr Fast Prep - 4 Days Out

Start by preparing your body

If you eat processed foods, simple carbs (pasta, bread, rice), and/or sugars.... This is the time to eliminate those.

It will make the transition into your fast less painful and less chance of a detox reaction.

Focus on protein, veggies, fats. I LOVE doing stir frys since I just use protein, veggie, and coconut aminos as the sauce.

Your body is so complex

If we are truly working holistically, we can't reduce the body down to one cause and one effect

It's a multitude of different factors that create dis-ease in the body and NO BODY is the exact same as another.

That's why it really boils my blood when influencers are marketing products that may not be what your body needs for healing

Before blowing your 401k on miracle detox potions, go see an experienced doc that understands functional bloodwork, hormone testing, nutrition and emotional connection with your health. And if you are not in my area (I do offer telehealth), DM me for someone in your area.

Your doc or social media influencer may just be copying the medical paradigm but labeling it functional medicine if they only see one cause to your issues.

Elevated Cortisol

High cortisol levels is a hallmark sign of Rushing Woman's Syndrome.

Serotonin is a neurotransmitter that can lower your cortisol levels. We increase serotonin by experiencing sunlight.

Go out into the sun everyday for a gentle walk, jog, reading a book, light stretching, or to just play with the kids. This simple act can shift your cortisol and decrease signs and symptoms.

Morning Light

Get outside and get sunshine in your eyes as soon as the sun rises.

This starts your brains circadian cycle

I've noticed that this has greatly helped my ability to fall asleep at night

Get that sunshine in your eyes 👀
