Dr. AJ and Dr. Gray received education on the Dentist’s roll in Temporomandibular Dysfunction (Jaw Pain). Dr. Dessereaux of is pictured here explaining the difference between Maximal Intercuspal Position (where the teeth fit together best) and the Centric Relation of the Jaw (where the jaw is most centered) in order to create the proper occlusal guard (night guard) that will not only prevent clenching at night but will also keep the jaw joint in its proper position. This is another tool to aid in the rehabilitation process of Temporomandibular Dysfunction (Jaw Pain) especially when it is linked to nocturnal clenching of the jaw. We love working with other professions to get the best results for our patients. If you have pain in your jaw, neck, or headaches give us a call to find out how we can help!

Dry needling has demonstrated improved tendon healing rates by increasing blood flow via local dilation of the blood vessels and an increase collagen proliferation. Reduced blood flow at the midportion of the Achilles tendon is a major factor in poor healing rates. Dry needling not only mechanically stimulates these changes, but also works with the brain to create a healing environment for the tendon.

Dry Needling is an amazingly effective technique that can treat a plethora of conditions including disc issues, arthritis, migraines, headaches, dizziness, tendonitis, and more! The needles mechanically remove adhesions and scar tissue from the affected area, remove chemicals and ions that result in a sustained contraction (knot), and result in the brain releasing endogenous opiates to further relax and heal the area.
Here Dr. Gray is treating the short flexor and opposer of her thumb to reduce the pressure and pain in three joint. Many thumbs up for this amazing technique!!!
