Our annual Christmas party for all classes is coming up this Tues, Dec 5th at 3 pm at the Branson Community Center at 201 Compton. We have lots of new yogis among us to meet. And even if you haven't been to class for awhile, we'd love to see you at the party. Remember FUN GAMES, GREAT PRIZES AND SWAG!

A little long, but amazing video. I'll always cherish the time I had over the years with a client similar to this fellow. As trainers, it may seem that we are focused just on the physical strength but our main goal is to improve the way you function in life. And that makes the interaction and relationship with each client (who quickly become friends) different and unique. Our entire body system, including the brain, fascia, organs, etc respond more than we know to our movements, whether for good or bad.

Such a great article by a friend and fellow teacher. Yoga develops great strength and fitness, but you wouldn't encourage someone to lift 100 pounds on their first attempt at a bench press. Without proper form and conditioning that would cause certain injury. So why then would you encourage someone without conditioning and strength to attempt to lift their entire body weight in an inversion or even partial weight in a cobra with a wrong foundation? I like my yoga "sweet" as Beth says. It should be therapeutic, which in itself will eventually build strength and fitness. Lots of classes available if you want to invite me into your "sweet" practice!

Yoga is largely regarded as a healing art, but is all yoga really therapeutic?
