Detric is a right transtibial amputee (below the knee) who also uses an AFO (ankle foot orthosis) on his left ankle and foot. His goal was to walk with his walker and he did it! 🎉🦿
We are so proud of the determination and hard work he put in to reach this milestone. 🎯 We’re grateful to be part of helping our patients move forward, regain independence, and keep reaching for their goals! It’s the best part of our job. 💙

The Amputee Peer Resource Group meets on the 4th Tuesday of every month at 6 PM at the Northeast Georgia Rehab Institute. This is a great opportunity to connect with others in the amputee community, share experiences, ask questions, and support one another.
This group is a welcoming space to learn, talk, and build community.

With her cranial remolding orthosis, she’s now rocking a beautiful head shape with a cephalic ratio under 90%, meaning her head is nicely balanced from side to side and in the healthy range! 🎉

This is the update we have been so excited to share! 💙
A few months ago, Robin received her left transtibial prosthesis. After months of healing, she was finally able to receive her right transtibial prosthesis and take her first steps! Robin shared with us that she doesn’t remember the last time she was able to walk, so this was a huge deal. 🦿
Swipe to see behind the scenes moments from her direct socket journey. We met Robin at her rehab, formed the socket directly over her residual limb, returned to our office to carefully fine tune every detail, and just a few hours later brought it back for her to wear. ⭐️
What shines brightest about Robin is her joy. From greeting everyone she meets to sharing how excited she is to get home and spend time with her grandkids, her positivity fills every room. 💙
It was an absolute joy working with you, Robin. We cannot wait to celebrate all the steps and milestones ahead! 🎉
