⚠️ Be prepared for the upcoming EXTREME COLD WATCH Friday night into Saturday. ⚠️ If you must go outdoors, cover all of your skin. Frostbite can occur in minutes with the wind chill temps that are forecasted! Additionally, check your carbon monoxide detectors to ensure they have adequate power supply (and battery backup). Find a warming shelter by dialing 2-1-1 or seeking resources through this link: https://vem.vermont.gov/shelters

Cold temperatures and gusty winds will cause wind chills to fall into the -20Β°F to -40Β°F range Friday night and Saturday morning. Winds decrease and temperatures rise modestly on Saturday, gradually raising wind chills into the -10Β°F to -20Β°F range during the day. An Extreme Cold Watch is in effect for all of northern New York and most of Vermont from 7 PM Fri until 1 PM Sat.
