Frank Johnson was born on February 9,1962 in El Centro, California to parents Roy and Mary Bowie Johnson and passed away on November 27, 2025, at Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs, California. Upon birth, he was greeted by siblings Anne (Mallory), David and Nancy. Frank had a wonderful life growing up in the country southwest of Westmorland, where he was able to do all of the things that he loved, such as hunting, fishing, and riding in the desert.

This deeply meaningful service ensures that no one in our community is forgotten in death, including those who leave behind no family or whose loved ones do not have the means to provide burial services.

Frye Chapel is humbled to partner with the Imperial County Public Administrator, assisting in the process of preparing these decedents for interment. The Public Administrator’s Office provides an essential service, offering support and burial assistance to some of the most vulnerable members of our community.

Their work and this ceremony remind us that every life matters, and every story deserves to be honored.

We are grateful to stand alongside the county and our community partners in ensuring that compassion and dignity are extended to every individual.

Anna May Johnson, born May 28,1931, in Oakland, California, went to rest in the arms of Jesus on November 9, 2025. Anna was raised in Brawley from the age of four and married Elmer “Slim” Johnson on March 31,1948. Together they shared a lifetime of devotion, hard work, and Western tradition.

Anna was the loving mother of Ray Johnson (Molly) and a proud grandmother to Carly Schaffner, Robin Cartee (Colby), Emily Hawkins (Scott), and Christen Rivas (Robert). She was also blessed with many great grandchildren, who brought her endless joy.

Barbara Lucille Slay, 88, passed away peacefully on November 14, 2025. She was born on February 26, 1932 in Bard, California, and throughout her rich and vibrant life she lived in Brawley, CA; El Cajon, CA; Lake Havasu City, AZ; Cartersville, GA; and most recently Prescott, AZ.

Barbara shared a remarkable 70-year marriage with the love of her life, James Slay. Their devotion to one another was the foundation of a beautiful family and a lifetime of cherished memories.
