How often to you get touch in a day? Touch that isn't currency (touch to get something in return).
And I don’t mean brushing past someone at the grocery store or a polite side-hug at the door.
I mean touch that involves personal connection that enlivens and fortifies.
As a bodyworker, I know this in my bones: touch validates our aliveness in deep and often unexpected ways.
It soothes the nervous system. It reminds us we’re here.
It says, you matter, your body matters, you are not alone.
But are we prioritizing touch? Inviting more touch into our lives? Having conversations with our loved ones around touch?
According to my clients, not as often as they would like.
