When was the last time you were touched in a way that made you exhale?

I mean the kind that lets your body soften and quietly register: I’m here. I matter.

As a bodyworker and massage therapist, I carry a deep belief — human beings need touch.

Not as a bonus or indulgence.

We need it the way we need warmth and oxygen.

Touch orients you. It grounds you in your body. It lets your nervous system settle.

And yet… this isn’t a conversation I hear people having.

How much touch do you actually need?
Are you getting enough?

Do you even know what “enough” feels like?

There isn’t a right amount.

Some people need daily contact.
Others need spaciousness and very intentional touch.
The point isn’t comparison — it’s awareness.

When safe touch is missing, something subtle can start to dim.
Self-worth can erode quietly and loneliness can creep in, even inside partnership.

Greetings Love,

I think one of the sexiest things in a relationship is curiosity.

When you’re curious, you’re actively seeking the other person—showing a desire to know them. And that can feel delicious.

Curiosity holds high value for me, and yet there are times when I find it challenging to bring it into my relationships.

The thing that stops my curiosity in its tracks most often is dysregulation—when my nervous system gets activated and my brain spins up a story about what’s happening.

By “story,” I mean the narrative my mind creates to fill in the blanks when my system feels threatened. It’s protective. Fast. And wildly creative.

My brain, bless it, often goes straight to worst-case scenario. It spins a version of events that makes the situation so unappealing that the obvious move is to retreat. Shut down. Pull away. Stay safe.

From a trauma perspective, this makes perfect sense. These stories aren’t trying to make life difficult—they’re attempts to protect us.

And… because they’re generated in isolation, they miss the other person’s perspective entirely. They are inherently incomplete.

When we’re in story, we’re no longer curious. We’re deciding. We’re filling in the blanks without ever checking whether what we’ve imagined is actually true.

So how do we find our way back?

The first step is catching yourself—realizing that you’re reacting, not responding.

Does your system feel activated, unsafe, or braced for something awful?
Does your mind feel like it’s spinning a mile a minute?

That awareness alone creates a little space.

The second step is regulation. Not analysis—regulation.
Go for a walk. Move your body. Shake. Breathe. Feel the feelings instead of trying to think your way out of them.

And then… return.
Return to curiosity.

Return to the other side of the equation—your partner, your lover, your friend.

See if you can ask a question instead of letting your brain decide the truth for you.

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve wound myself up tight over something that could have been clarified with one simple, honest inquiry—if only I hadn’t let fear take the wheel.

Happy Imbolc.

Imbolc marks the halfway point between Winter Solstice and Spring Equinox. The first moment when the sun’s return really becomes noticeable.

Something is shifting.
Thawing.
Stirring.

I recently saw a simple Imbolc ritual. Part of the ritual was to place a cup of ice on the altar, with candles and watch the ice melt. Being present to the thawing. It stayed with me.

Nature is always showing us the truth of how to move. What happens in the natural world is also happening in us. We are that connected.

Winter is a season of slowing—more rest, heavier foods, less doing. And then comes this in-between time. Not spring yet. Still the dream time. But something begins to loosen.

So I’m curious:
What starts to rise in you as things begin to thaw?
What stirs your excitement when you imagine warmer days ahead?

This isn’t the time for to-do lists or big commitments. It’s a time for imagining. For listening. For gently preparing the soil of your life so that when spring arrives, what you want to grow has somewhere to land.

And a reminder—we’re still thawing. No need to rush.

These are tender days. The world is asking a lot of us. I truly believe that tending ourselves is not indulgent—it’s essential. The steadier and more resourced we are, the more capable we become of rising up and against injustice.

This is an energy check.
How are you doing, really?

This moment feels big. I’m hearing it from many of you. I feel it too.

So pause with me for a second.
Yes. Right now.

Take a breath.
Let it land all the way in.
Let life force fill you.

You are here.
Now.
That matters.

When things feel big like this, I come back to the small, holy things. The ones that remind me that life is still offering itself.

For me, that looks like fresh air in my lungs, time among the trees, mountains steadying my nervous system, water reminding me how to flow. It’s connection with friends. It’s morning and night rituals that help me return to myself.

With everything that’s been going on, I’ve had to be exquisitely diligent about my self-care. It’s not a luxury these days but a necessity. I can’t show up for the people I love, or for the work I’m devoted to, if I’m not tending myself.

So I’m wondering about you.
Do you feel capable of taking the time you need?

Or are you so exhausted that even knowing where to begin feels like too much?
