With the launch of Bay Vista Commons, the Bremerton Housing Authority set to meet a new era of community needs by creating a one-of-a-kind housing solution for seniors in Bremerton and the greater West Sound region. This campus is a model that is being observed nationally for its unparalleled commitment to access, financial security, and quality for seniors from multiple resource backgrounds. It was an honor for Martha & Mary to join the mission of this campus in 2012 by providing management services and exceptional care to the families that have chosen to call Bay Vista Commons home. As I begin my first day of retirement, I would like to express my extreme appreciation to Bay Vista Commons. A lot of places say "we are a family here" but it appears just to be a cliché. BVC is TRULY a family --From the Administrator down to every single employee. You could not have a better boss than Jamie Payseno! She is kind and sympathetic yet firm at the same time. She has built a solid group of Dept. heads--Mary, Josie, Nieves, Tony, Mieko and now the addition of Justin. Kathy has been a steadfast assistant in the nursing dept--outlasting us all--Thank you for your help. Also--my other nursing buddy Carolyn, who kept my sanity many days. I cannot name all the staff by name, but you could not ask for a better bunch of people. They Love and Care for the residents like they were part of their own family---and they become exactly that!! They would all give you the shirt off their backs if you needed it--no matter their own financial situation. They have become part of my own family. And then there are residents AND their families. They are like all families--very variable in their personalities--but you love them all anyway. And, I am sure you can understand why the residents would become family to us but you have to understand that the families become family to us also. They trust us with their most precious gifts--their family. We establish a relationship with them too. We have some wonderful families at BVC too--and thank you for all you do!! In closing, I would just like to say thank you so much for allowing me the honor and privledge of working with you all. You will always hold a special place in my heart

So very proud of all the staff and residents of Bay Vista. You have persevered through months of quarantine, wearing masks and social distancing and what you have been doing has paid off. The results from the mandatory coronavirus are in and all the residents and staff tested negative!!! YAY!!!! Keep it up! We know it is tough and a pain but if we all work together --we can get through this healthy and happy. Thank you for all your hard work!!
