It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our founder and Dr. Kristen’s father, Dr. Frank Hann.
Dr. Hann founded Hann Orthodontics in Antioch in 1973, building a practice rooted in integrity, excellence, and genuine care for every patient who walked through our doors. In the mid-2000s, he began practicing in Brentwood as well, expanding his commitment to serving families throughout our growing community. In 2015, his daughter, Dr. Kristen Hann, joined the practice continuing the legacy he began.
Born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, Dr. Hann carried his Midwest warmth and work ethic with him throughout his life. He served as a Navy Dental Officer stationed in San Diego, dedicating himself to caring for those who served our country. In 1971, he moved to the Bay Area after his dental school classmate and friend, Jerry Jeffry, invited him to join his practice, a decision that would shape the rest of his life and career.
Not long after arriving in the Bay Area, he attended a Catholic singles mixer in San Francisco where he met the love of his life, Connie. They were married in 1973, the same year he opened Hann Orthodontics. Together, they built not only a beautiful family, but a life centered on faith, community, and service.
For over 50 years, Dr. Hann helped create confident smiles and lasting relationships. He treated generations of families and many of you entrusted him with your children and even grandchildren. His gentle humor and unwavering dedication defined who we are as a practice.
While we mourn his loss, we celebrate the extraordinary legacy he leaves behind in the thousands of smiles he shaped, the community he loved, and the family who continues his work.
