Thank you to all of the veterans, and a few family members of veterans, who attended the mental health screenings on Monday morning earlier this week. It was a pleasure to meet all of you. I hope you follow up on recommendations. You made this past Monday really enjoyable!

Today was a fun, busy day of mental health screenings for students. It was nice to meet so many high school seniors, college students, and even a few of their friends and family. 14 students reserved screening times, and all 14 showed. Thanks to everyone who took part and everyone who referred students for the screenings. I need to take more days off to do this. And it is great to do this over telehealth because my Beagle got to join me for all of the screenings. She was quite popular with the students! Long day, but a good day.

Remember that starting today, 988 is the new mental health crisis line, replacing the old 1- 800 number. This number is nationwide and can be used 24 hours a day for any suicidality or serious mental health crisis. Just dial 988.

I really enjoyed meeting all the veterans who participated in the mental health screenings via telehealth last week through my office. I also enjoyed meeting a few of your family members. I hope everyone follows up on recommendations from the screenings. All the best to all of you!
