Tip of the Week: Ease Tight Legs & Improve Flexibility

If your legs feel tight after sitting all day or crushing a workout, this simple stretch is your new best friend!
The Standing Hamstring & Calf Stretch helps release tension through your hamstrings, calves, and lower back — all while improving posture and blood flow.

Here’s How to Do It:
1. Stand tall and place one heel on a sturdy surface (like a chair, step, or bed).
2. Keep your leg straight and your toes pointing up.
3. Hinge forward from your hips until you feel a stretch along the back of your leg.
4. Hold for 20–30 seconds, breathe deeply, and switch sides.

Why It’s Good for You:

-Loosens tight hamstrings and calves that cause lower back discomfort
-Increases flexibility and circulation
-Reduces soreness after standing or sitting for long periods
-Helps support healthy movement between massage sessions
-This is the perfect way to keep your body feeling light and mobile between appointments.

Today marks 16 years of owning Franklin Massage Center!
There’s not a day that goes by that I’m not incredibly humbled and grateful for the path God has led me on. 🙏

Tip of the Week: Relieve Hip & Lower Back Tension

Try this simple stretch you can do anywhere — at your desk, at home, or before your massage session.
This move targets the piriformis muscle, a small but powerful muscle deep in your glutes that often contributes to hip stiffness and sciatic discomfort.

How to Do It:
-Sit tall in a sturdy chair.
-Cross one ankle over your opposite knee to form a “figure four.”
- Keep your spine straight and slowly lean forward until you feel a stretch in your glutes and outer hip.
-Hold for 20–30 seconds, then switch sides.

What It Works:
Piriformis, glutes, and hip rotators
Gently lengthens the lower back and releases tension from prolonged sitting
Improves hip mobility, posture, and circulation

Why It’s Good for You:
-Helps relieve lower back tightness
-Reduces hip pain from sitting or driving
-May ease mild sciatic nerve tension
-Supports the results of your professional massage by keeping muscles relaxed between visits.
