Time for a new introduction! I’m Beth - psychotherapist, EMDR trainer, yoga teacher, and reiki practitioner. I’m also a wife and mama, a Nashville native, and a total nerd. I’m enjoying launching my holistic EMDR intensive practice in the Nashville area this year, as well as teaching EMDR trainings for clinicians monthly all over the US. I’m excited to share more with you about all the things I love!

I know, none of these things are fun to do.

But these three things are some of your most powerful tools for processing trauma. Just ask experts like ... the research is there.

I heard this phrase for the first time from at teacher training. Shaking, sweating, and crying... that’s how we shed trauma.

Turns out, that isn’t just true in a yoga practice. I see this daily with clients when we do EMDR, when we do any type of body work, and when we do Reiki sessions. The body wants to heal, and it knows how. So let it.

One year later...

I do not love social media, so I took a long break. Hello again, my friends.

There’s a lot going on with me and I’m excited to share with you all in the following months. I’m looking forward to hearing your stories from the past year, and connecting with you around new content I’ve got in the works.

Just as a bit of an update for any new friends, I’m Beth. I’m a psychotherapist, EMDR consultant, registered yoga teacher, and reiki practitioner. I’m here to grow physically, spiritually, mentally, and emotionally with you.

Every day I ask clients to repeat the mantra,

“I Matter.”

There are no words to make right the wrong that has been done. All I can say to my Black friends is this:

You matter. You matter to me. Your life matters. Black lives matter. And I’ll say it to you and for you... For as long as it takes.

I can’t fix this stuff with words, but I’m a good listener. And I’m here to listen to you.

We went to the Grand Canyon this week.

There’s nothing like it. So vast, so stunning, so magical.

After spending days completely unplugged from the news and social media, we came back home to some big changes.

Panic. Scarcity. Not enough.

It’s been amazing to reconnect to the world during this season of fear and grasping... people feel so overwhelmed and out of control that buying a 12-month supply of toilet paper feels like the only solution they can hold onto.

Have grace with yourself and others. Listen to trustworthy professionals. Don’t let fear and scarcity govern your thoughts, your bodies, your decisions.

We can get through hard things. We can weather this storm as we have many others. Nurture your body, mind, and soul... the only way out of this is through it.

You have enough, and you are enough.

As a trauma therapist, I come up against something frequently... people don’t like talking about trauma. Unless they’re ready to do the work, people AVOID talking about the hard stuff, or reading about it, or thinking about it. And that’s ok... as always, our bodies and brains are trying to keep us safe. Just know that if and when you’re ready to start facing down some of your old stuff, I’ll be ready for ya.... probably still in child’s pose like this. We can just do child’s pose together.❤️

Every time I start feeling checked out, I pretend I'm standing in wet sand on the edge of the ocean. I also use this strategy in my yoga practice to ground down into my mat. I have such a visceral reaction every time. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
