Sunday Smarts: What Providers Are Asking Us Most.
Nurse-Triage FAQ #4: What issues can triage resolve? and when do we escalate?
Not every call requires a home visit or an ambulance.

Nurse triage can resolve many common concerns remotely: pain, nausea, shortness of breath, medication questions, and caregiver anxiety. But when symptoms escalate, safety is unclear, or orders fall outside protocol, the triage nurse routes the call to on-call clinicians or dispatches a visit.
It’s clinical judgment in real time, prioritizing patient safety and comfort.

The goal is the right decision, right away. Find out more: https://bit.ly/48q3OCK

Sunday Smarts: What Providers Are Asking Us Most.
Nurse-Triage FAQ #3: How does hospice triage differ from standard clinical triage?

Hospice care is different, so hospice triage should be too.

Standard triage focuses on directing patients to the right care setting, often the ER. Hospice (and home health) triage focuses on comfort, quality of life, caregiver confidence, and honoring the plan of care.
Triage nurses coach families through symptoms, help manage medications, and support emotional needs, often preventing unnecessary transfers.
The result? Dignity, comfort, and continuity at home.

Hospice deserves triage built for end-of-life needs. Learn more: https://bit.ly/48HdXwe
