Did you know dogs can get dementia too? 🐾
Meet Pounce, a sweet 13½-year-old pit bull Kaely dog sits. Pounce is living with canine cognitive dysfunction (that’s the dog version of dementia). Just like people, dogs can experience memory loss, confusion, and changes in behavior as they age.
Watching Pounce navigate these changes reminds us a lot of the aging journey many seniors experience. Dementia, whether in people or pets, is a natural part of aging for some, and it calls for patience, understanding, and compassionate care.
At Cornerstone, we see every day how empathy and routine can make a world of difference for those living with dementia. The same is true for our furry family members. Love, consistency, and a calm environment help them feel safe and supported. 💕
So today, we’re honoring Pounce, and all the seniors, human and four-legged alike, who teach us the true meaning of grace, resilience, and unconditional love. 🐶👵
