Hi all! Dr. Mariaskin and clinician Katie Boyer will be leading a new LGBTQIA+ consultation group beginning October 8th. This group is for licensed therapists working with LGBTQIA+ clients affected by OCD, anxiety, and related disorders. Both group members specialize in evidence-based treatment that recognizes the intersections of mental health concerns and aspects of identity. This group will meet for 75 minutes on a biweekly basis on Wednesdays from 11:00am-12:15pm CST. The cost for all five weeks is $375 and enrollment is limited to 4 participants. Hi everyone! Monica Whitley has recently joined our clinical internship program at Nashville OCD & Anxiety Treatment Center and is working under Courtney Bottoms Gustafson's supervision! She is a student in Vanderbilt's Master's counseling program. Like the rest of us at NOATC, Monica will be treating clients of all ages who live with OCD, an OCD-spectrum disorder, or an anxiety disorder. We all experience difficult thoughts and feelings - especially when life feels uncertain or overwhelming. It’s natural to want to fix them or shut them out, but most times, those feelings are just our mind and body trying to respond to what we perceive around us. Sometimes, the most helpful thing we can do is slow down, notice what’s showing up, and remind ourselves that it makes sense. Little by little, that awareness opens the door to new ways of responding - and that’s how real change begins.
