Sometimes the issues we face in our health are not illnesses, but signs that we are missing essential nutrients. If you're feeling tired, having trouble concentrating, or experiencing mood swings, it might be due to deficiencies in magnesium, vitamin D, or iron. These nutrients are key to maintaining energy levels and supporting healthy brain function.

For other issues like cramps, constipation, or digestive problems, low potassium might be the cause. On the other hand, low iodine can lead to thyroid issues and unwanted weight gain. Each deficiency manifests differently, affecting both your physical and mental well-being. It’s essential to listen to your body’s signals.

The first step is to assess your diet and consult with a healthcare professional. Taking the right supplements or making dietary adjustments can help restore balance and improve overall health. Your body needs the right nutrients to function at its best. 💊🌿

I have researched and prioritized some of these options into my diet.

Certain foods have been shown to have remarkable cancer-fighting properties, and incorporating them into your diet is one of the best ways to support your body's ability to ward off illness. Cruciferous vegetables like broccoli and cauliflower are known to contain compounds that help neutralize carcinogens. Blueberries, packed with antioxidants, have also been linked to cancer prevention due to their ability to reduce oxidative stress in the body.

In addition to vegetables and fruits, foods like garlic, turmeric, and walnuts have been shown to possess anti-cancer properties. Garlic, for example, contains sulfur compounds that can help detoxify the body and prevent cancer cell growth. Similarly, turmeric’s active ingredient, curcumin, has been found to inhibit the spread of cancerous cells, making it an excellent addition to your daily meals.

Incorporating these superfoods into your daily meals can significantly improve your health and lower your cancer risk. The power of prevention lies in your diet, and by choosing cancer-fighting foods, you can help protect your body from harmful diseases. A balanced, nutrient-rich diet is one of the most effective ways to support your health long-term. 🍇🥦

I add castor oil to my homemade face moisturizer.

Castor oil is an ancient remedy that has been used for centuries to treat various health and beauty concerns. Its versatility is remarkable; from helping with hair growth and reducing hair fall to moisturizing dry skin and treating scars, castor oil can be a game-changer in your daily beauty routine. By simply applying it to your eyebrows or scalp, you can stimulate hair growth and achieve fuller, thicker hair.

For those looking to improve their skin, castor oil is an excellent choice. It’s known for its ability to fade scars and dark spots, leaving the skin looking clearer and more even-toned. By gently massaging the oil into the skin, it also promotes better circulation, helping to improve skin texture and appearance. It even works wonders on dry feet and cracked heels, providing deep hydration and leaving your feet feeling soft and smooth.

Castor oil’s benefits extend beyond just skin and hair care. It can also help alleviate joint pain when applied topically, and its natural anti-inflammatory properties make it a popular choice for those seeking relief from muscle aches and stiffness. Whether used on the scalp or skin, castor oil offers natural solutions for many common beauty and health concerns. 🌟💧

I have an alarm set on my phone for 8:00 pm everyday. My grands and great niece and nephew call it our gratefulness alarm. Whenever they are with us and the alarm goes off they are eager to share what they were grateful for that day with us. Rob and I take a minute to reflect every single time that the alarm rings.
It is so easy to focus on all of the stress, worry and chaos in our worlds, this little act allow us to shift into the fortunate and grateful zone. 💗
Here’s to finding all of the goodness and giving it a moment to shine!

Seemed like a good time to share this.

Mucus buildup can cause discomfort and contribute to illnesses like colds and sinus infections. Certain foods can help flush mucus from your body, improving your respiratory health and reducing inflammation. Ginger, garlic, pineapple, and lemon are just a few of the powerful foods that can help clear your sinuses and promote better breathing.

Incorporating these foods into your diet can help strengthen your immune system and reduce the frequency of colds and respiratory issues. They not only fight mucus but also have anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties that support your body’s natural healing process.

Next time you're feeling congested, try consuming a combination of these mucus-flushing foods to feel better and breathe easier. Your body will thank you. 🍍🍋

About Me

Welcome to LifebyLis! My name is Lisa Dunning, I am a Wellness Warrior and a Holistic Health Practitioner with a strong passion for healing and teaching and let’s not forget fun. I love sharing all of the tools in my tool-belt to help put my family, friends and clients in the driver seat of their own health and wellness path.

My wellness journey began in 1995, when one of my children had a severe allergy that countless trips to the allergist, testing and money could not diagnose. Fed-up, I started to keep a food journal of everything that he ingested. After a family birthday party that featured Elmo and lots of red punch, frosting, lollipops and such, I finally discovered that Cory had a red food dye allergy. I knew that nutrition was important we ate lots of fruits and vegetables and kept sweet treats to a minimum but had no idea what real impact that food could have on your health. I was told to give my child Benadryl to help with the symptoms that we was experiencing so you can imagine my anger when I read the label and learned that the very thing that he was allergic to was in the medicine that he had been prescribed. My label reading adventure began and my curiosity about health and wellness was ignited.

I have spent many years filling my tool-belt with tools that I have found useful in my own health challenges and have shared with friends and family along the way. I studied at Global College of Natural Medicine to earn a bachelors degree in holistic health. I became a Reiki Master over a decade ago and practice Reiki daily. Other tools include AromaTouch massage, Essential Oils, Emotional Freedom Technique, Tai Chi, Lifestyle Coach, and so much more.

My family and friends are the most important thing in my life and I truly treasure each member of this “tribe” that I walk on this path with everyday! Come and join me on this path to wellness and let’s have some fun along the way.
