Yesterday, our leadership team was in Olympia for Rural Advocacy Day, hosted by the Washington State Hospital Association -- making sure rural health care has a strong voice at the Capitol.

Board Chair Mike Pruett, Board Secretary Leslie McNamara, and Chief Operating Officer Jamie Boyer met with Sen. Shelly Short, Rep. Andrew Engell, and Rep. Hunter Abell to share why continued support for rural hospitals matters so much to the communities we serve.

We’re grateful for the time, the conversation, and the commitment to protecting access to care in rural Washington. 💙🏥

Winter sports are great ways to stay active, but winter conditions can increase the risk of strains, sprains, falls and overuse injuries.

Three Rivers Hospital's rehab therapy team encourages athletes and families to stay safe with a few simple habits that help prevent injuries and keep you doing what you love:
• Warm up before you start an activity since cold muscles are more likely to strain
• Wear the right gear -- especially helmets and properly fitted footwear
• Build strength and balance to reduce fall risk and improve control
• Know your limits -- fatigue is one of the biggest drivers of winter injuries
• Listen to pain early to prevent small issues from becoming bigger setbacks

If soreness, stiffness or a fall is keeping you from staying active this season, our therapy can help you recover and safely continue doing the things you enjoy.

✨ IV Nurse Week | January 26–30 ✨
Igniting Health & Inspiring Hope

This week, we’re celebrating IV Nurse Week, honoring the nurses who provide skilled, compassionate infusion care to patients with a wide range of medical needs.

At our hospital and clinic, non-chemotherapy infusion therapy supports patients receiving:

• IV antibiotics for infections
• Iron infusions for anemia
• Rheumatology medications for conditions like rheumatoid arthritis
• Treatments for ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease
• IVIG for immune deficiencies such as hypogammaglobulinemia
• Albumin infusions for liver disease

Behind every infusion is careful monitoring, technical expertise, and a commitment to patient comfort and safety.

Thank you to our nursing professionals for the vital role you play in our community. 💙💉

Sometimes the best thank-yous come straight from the heart -- and the snack table. 💙

A patient stopped by to thank our Emergency Department and Radiology teams for the care they received recently. These gestures mean so much to our staff and remind us why they do what they do every day.

To our ED and Radiology teams: thank you for showing up with skill, compassion, and heart.

Snow shoveling may seem like a simple chore, but it’s one of the most common causes of back, shoulder and muscle injuries. Cold temperatures, heavy snow and repetitive lifting can quickly strain your body, especially if you’re not using safe mechanics.

Three Rivers Hospital's rehab therapy team put together these tips to help you avoid injury this season:
• Warm up first (even 3–5 minutes of marching in place helps)
• Use proper form -- bend at the knees and hips, keep the load close, and avoid twisting
• Push instead of lifting heavy snow, whenever possible
• Take smaller scoops and pace yourself to prevent fatigue
• Switch sides often to reduce strain on your back and shoulders
• Stop if you feel pain, dizziness, or shortness of breath

If shoveling causes back pain, shoulder pain or lingering soreness, therapy can help you recover safely and prevent the issue from becoming long-term.

Stay safe, shovel smart and protect your mobility. And if you need help recovering from strain or injury, reach out to our team: (509) 689-2517

It’s National CRNA Week, and we’re proud to recognize the Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists who care for our patients behind the scenes.

CRNAs are advanced-practice nurses who safely administer anesthesia, manage pain, and monitor patients throughout procedures -- helping ensure the best possible outcomes.

We’re thankful for our partnership with Okanogan Valley Anesthesia and for the expertise their CRNAs bring to our community. Your work truly makes a difference.
