Please join us in welcoming our new Director of Nursing, Shawnta Jones, to our Complete Care at Shorrock Gardens Family!

Nursing has been a calling for Shawnta as long as she can remember - she started her career in healthcare back in 2009 as a CNA and from her very first day, she knew it was meant to be! Over the years, Shawnta has worked in hospice, home care, and long-term acute care settings. Each experience teaching her something new about compassion, strength, and power of team work.

Shawnta is a proud mother of six, and balancing motherhood with her nursing career has shaped her into the leader and caregiver she is today; patient, understanding, and determined. In 2018, she took the next step in her career and became an LPN. That milestone only deepened her love for nursing and her desire to grow.

In 2023, she earned her RN license and began working in the hospital setting while continuing her passion for long-term care. Just recently, she complete her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Chamberlain University with plans to continue her education to obtain her Masters Degree in Nursing.

Throughout her career, Shawnta always found herself returning to LTAC and long-term care. The relationships built, the difference we make in the lives we touch, and the teamwork amongst staff are what drives her everyday!

As she steps into this new role, she is honored to lead with the same compassion and dedication that brought her this far. Her goal is to create an environment where both residents and staff feel supported, valued, and cared for - because great nursing doesn't happen alone; it happens together says Shawnta.
