Coast Physio, LLC was created in 2020 out of my desire to work closer to home and serve the community where I reside with my husband, a Brick native, and our two children. Since graduating from SUNY Buffalo and obtaining licensure in 1999, I spent nearly 17 years as owner and senior clinician of a successful clinic in Brooklyn, NY, my hometown, through 2020. During that time, I placed an emphasis on manual therapy and movement education, taking pride in the individualized one-on-one model provided and the caring environment that fostered rapport, trust, and healing. I am so delighted to continue providing the same top notch care, only now as a mobile concierge therapist, seeing patients in their homes in and around Brick, NJ. Though my recent focus has been on the active older adult recovering from surgery, injury, or simply wishing to maintain their independence, I am a seasoned PT with extensive continuing education in all areas of orthopedic PT, treating a range of ages and neuromuscular conditions. I’ve proudly assisted countless individuals recover from injury, optimize their movement patterns, and return to doing what they need and love: recreational and competitive athletes, expectant and new mothers, trades-workers and desk-workers, couch potatoes and weekend warriors. My new service platform as a mobile therapist allows me to meet the needs of patients where it matters most for so many- their homes and workplace. It also allows for privacy and comfort without the distractions of a busy clinic, as well as convenience for those working from home, unable to drive, or juggling childcare. As an empathetic practitioner, my strength is in my active listening, patience, and willingness to educate - providing individuals the tools necessary for independence and confidence in self-care. When not working as a PT, assisting my husband with his woodworking business, or cheering my kids on at one of their many athletic or school events, you can find me pursuing one of my many fitness passions: sunrise ocean swims with fellow Jersey Shore Triathlon Club and Team Zebra Multisport members, riding the trails of Allaire S.P. as a NICA level 2 coach with the Jersey Shore Tidal Waves mountain bike team, running the local roads, trails, and tracks as a new member of Bella n Motion women’s masters running team, or paddling the Metedeconk river and surfing the waves at local beaches with my family. I’m an advocate for us all to take an active role in our health and move more because life really is better when we do. Kimberly Nielsen, PT
