Here’s a clean, practical checklist you can use to compare Rooted Physical Therapy with any other clinic for pelvic-health concerns.
Keep it focused and direct so you can spot real differences quickly!
Pelvic Health Clinic Comparison Checklist
1. Clinical Expertise
- Does the clinic have pelvic-floor–trained therapists (not just general PTs who “also treat pelvic health”)?
- Does the clinician regularly treat your specific concern (pelvic pain, prolapse, incontinence, pregnancy, postpartum, pediatric, etc.)?
- Does the clinic offer internal pelvic-floor assessment if clinically appropriate?
2. Session Structure
- Are sessions 100% one-on-one with the same therapist?
- How long is each session (Rooted offers longer, dedicated visits)?
- Will you avoid being handed off to techs or bounced between providers?
3. Treatment Style
- Is care individualized or based on standard exercise sheets?
- Do they treat beyond the pelvic floor (breath, core strategy, hips, posture, nervous system, lifestyle contributors)?
- Do they rely mainly on Kegels, or do they actually tailor the plan to your body?
- Do they offer manual therapy, dry needling, movement retraining, and functional training?
4. Specialty Populations
Pregnancy: Do they address pelvic pain, rib pain, sciatica, labor prep, pushing strategies?
Postpartum: Do they rehab diastasis recti, prolapse, abdominal scar mobility, core rebuilding?
Pediatrics: Do they treat pediatric pelvic-floor issues if relevant?
5. Environment & Philosophy
- Does the clinic take a whole-person, root-cause approach?
- Do they take time to explain what they are doing and why?
- Do you feel heard, respected, and not rushed?
6. Outcomes & Reputation
Are the clinic’s reviews specific about pelvic-health success stories?
- Do patients mention resolving issues without long, drawn-out plans?
- Does the therapist provide education and empower you to manage your own progress?
7. Convenience
- Short wait times for appointments?
- Private, comfortable treatment space, especially for pelvic exams?
