When you are standing in the middle of a storm you have two choices: Pray to God that it goes away. Or, start praying to God that he gives you the wisdom to figure out why you're standing in the middle of a storm.

A routine day at work could have turned deadly for a worker at a local company if not for the quick actions of his coworkers. This morning at approximately 11:30am a maintenance worker at Tenmile land LLC was using a chainsaw to remove some overgrowth around the facility. The saw became lodged in a bush and during the removal process the worker was struck in the leg causing major bleeding due to a cut artery. Office personal was alerted to the emergency and began emergency medical treatment prior to Fire and EMS arrival by attempting to control the bleeding with direct pressure but ultimately had to apply a tourniquet to the limb. The quick thinking of all involved ultimately saved the gentleman’s life and is expected to make a full recovery!

How would your office personal handle an emergency? This was just a training drill conducted during a First aid/CPR class today at Tenmile Lands facility at Charles Point in Bridgeport. This group of hard working employees proves there are still good people willing to help in an emergency. Excellent people, Excellent company!!

What did your child’s teacher, bus driver, service personnel, mechanic, school nurse, or office staff do today? The Safety Educators staff had the pleasure of working with the Lewis County Board of Education employees from all schools within the county today at Lewis County High School. Training them in technique to help YOUR CHILD in an emergency. These dedicated employees worked throughout the day dealing with hands on scenarios involving first aid, CPR, AED, bleeding control, and splinting.
