Mildred “Millie” Patricia Garron (nee Bennett), lifelong resident of Bridgeton passed away on January 10, 2026 surrounded by the love of her family. Millie was born in Bridgeton where she built a life defined by hard work, devotion to family and quiet strength.

Private graveside services will take place at Overlook Cemetery in Bridgeton at the convenience of the family.

Carmen A. Conti, longtime owner of Carmen’s Restaurant in Sea Isle City, NJ, passed away peacefully in his own bed with his family and his puppies, Rosebud and Annabelle, by his side on Wednesday January 7, 2026. He was 96 years old.

In remembrance of the love that Carmen had for all the dogs in his life, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Beacon Animal Rescue, 701 Butter Road, Ocean View, NJ 08230 (beaconanmimalrescue.org).

Visitation will be Wednesday evening, January 14th at the Sea Isle City United Methodist Church, 4102 Central Avenue, Sea Isle City, NJ ,08243, where friends and family may call from 6:00-8:00PM, and Thursday, January 15, 2026 from 9:30-11:00AM.
Funeral services will begin at 11:00 AM.

Burial, with military honors, will follow at the Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery, 2373 Shore Road, Ocean View, NJ. 08230.

Shaye R. DiOrio, 74 of Mechanicsville, VA died Saturday morning, January 3, 2026 at Autumn Care of Mechanicsville after an extended illness.

Shaye was entombed privately in a ceremony held on Friday January 9th in the family mausoleum at Overlook Cemetery.

Robert G. Seibert, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, went home to be with his Lord on January 6, 2026, passing peacefully in the New Jersey Veterans Memorial Home, where he and his wife, Nancy (Robinson), have resided for two years. He was 99 years old.

Private graveside services with military honors will be held at the convenience of the family at the Cumberland County Veterans Cemetery in Hopewell Township.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to the NJ Veterans Memorial Home of Vineland and Bayada Hospice for the excellent care that Robert received.

Chief John E. Bondi, Sr., BPD (ret), passed away and went to be with his Lord on Tuesday morning January 6, 2026 in the emergency room at Inspira Medical Center in Vineland.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services at the Freitag Funeral Home, 137 W. Commerce St., Bridgeton on Friday morning January 9th at 11 o’clock.

Pastor Kenneth Corson of the Fairton Christian Center will officiate.
The burial with police honors will follow at Laurel Lawn Cemetery in Upper Deerfield Township. Friends will be received at the funeral home Friday morning from 9 until 11.

Diana Leah (Ritondo) Hatfield, age 64, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly in the early hours of Monday, December 22nd, 2025.

A celebration of life will be held on January 10th, 2026, at Cedarville Fire Department beginning at 4pm.

Gilbert R. Melli, a lifelong resident of Bridgeton, passed away peacefully Sunday morning December 28, 2025, just weeks shy of his 94th birthday. Born on January 19, 1932, Gilbert lived a life rooted in faith, devotion, service and enduring love. He departed this world anticipating a joyful Heavenly reunion with the love of his life, his wife Martha.

A Catholic graveside service with military honors will be held at the Melli family plot in Overlook Cemetery in Bridgeton on Friday morning January 2nd at 11 o’clock.
Immediate family and friends are invited to attend.

The interment of his cremated remains will follow the service.

Gilbert will be remembered for his steadfast faith, lifelong dedication to family, and the quiet strength with which he lived his life. His legacy endures through the generations who will carry his love forward.

William E. “Bill” Bowen, Sr., former director of the Bridgeton Housing Authority and a former member of Bridgeton City Council passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of Sunday December 14, 2025 at Inspira Medical Center in Vineland. He had been in declining health for several months. Mr. Bowen was 96 and had been a resident of Millville, but also was a longtime resident of Money Island and Sebastian, Florida.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services on Friday morning December 19th at 11 o’clock at the Freitag Funeral Home, 137 W. Commerce St., Bridgeton.

The burial will follow and take place at Broad Street Cemetery in Bridgeton.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday morning from 10 until 11.

Robert J. Roller, Sr., 96, of Fairfield Township passed away Saturday evening December 6, 2025 at Inspira medical Center in Vineland where he had been in declining health and a patient for five days.

Private graveside services were held at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Millville where Mr. Roller was laid to rest in the family cemetery lot.
