Our hearts are heavy today along with many across the region. As our partners at EMS West so beautifully said, Amos left a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of working alongside him.

Our thoughts are with you, your family, and your friends, Amos.

It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of our friend, colleague, and former coworker, Amos P. Cameron. After a long and courageous battle with cancer, Amos passed away on Wednesday, October 29th, surrounded by his family and closest friends.

Amos dedicated his life to Emergency Services in Allegheny County and throughout Western Pennsylvania. During his time with EMSI and EMS West, he oversaw Regional Operations and led multiple Strike Team deployments to Louisiana and New Jersey. His leadership, commitment, and compassion left a lasting impact on all who had the privilege to work alongside him.

Funeral arrangements will be shared once they are available. Please keep Amos’s family and friends in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Last night was a busy one for our team!

Alongside handling 911 calls and event standbys, we held our quarterly training - led by our own EMT John Lucas.

Dr. Traynor, our medical director, then introduced tranexamic acid (TXA). TXA is a new medication our paramedics will have to control bleeding.

We also made sure to take time and recognize three of our providers for their outstanding work assisting with a surprise roadside baby delivery!

We’re unbelievably proud of the dedication and skill our team brings every hour of every day, no matter where you are.

Our Water Rescue Team has been busy!
In partnership with Lawrence Volunteer Fire Department, Company 28, we conducted both pool and open water training this week. The focus: preparation, safety, and teamwork.

Our crews practiced essential skills and boat handling to stay ready for real world emergencies. (We’d love to show you the open water action shots, but some things are just too risky for our phones!)

Earlier today, we responded alongside multiple agencies to a Mass Casualty Incident (MCI) in Clairton, at the request of SouthEast Regional EMS, with two ambulances and a supervisor. Our team, both on-duty and off-duty, responded swiftly to assist those affected, while also ensuring that routine operations in our service area remained uninterrupted.

We are grateful for the coordinated efforts of all responding agencies and proud of the professionalism and dedication shown in such a critical time.

We extend our deepest sympathies to everyone impacted by this tragic event.
