Every comeback starts somewhere.

For Brennan Sprague of Monsignor Farrell High School in Staten Island, the journey didn’t begin with a state title, it began with a setback.

After not starting wrestling until his freshman year, Brennan suffered a neck injury during his sophomore season that could have been career-ending.

Instead of walking away, he committed to his recovery. He chose to complete his rehabilitation at JAG Physical Therapy, putting in the work day after day to come back stronger, physically and mentally.

That commitment paid off. Brennan returned to the mat and went on to win a New York State Championship.

We’re proud of Brennan’s resilience and grateful our team could play a role in his comeback. Because behind every return to play is a plan, a team, and a belief that stronger is possible.

If you’re facing an injury, your comeback can start here, at JAG Physical Therapy.

Weight management is one of the biggest risk factors in wrestling, and it’s often misunderstood.

In collaboration with the National Wrestling Coaches Association, we’re addressing what safe, responsible weight management should actually look like for wrestlers.

In this video, Michael Santamaria, PT, DPT, breaks down why drastic cuts, dehydration, and last-minute weight drops can hurt performance and increase injury risk, and what healthier, smarter preparation really involves.

Success on the mat shouldn’t come at the expense of long-term health.

National Athletic Training Month is here, let’s celebrate the professionals who get us patched up and back in the game.

Athletic trainers are often the first on the field and the last to leave. They assess, treat, tape, stabilize, support, and advocate, all while keeping athletes safe and competition-ready.

From prevention to recovery, their impact goes far beyond the sidelines.

This month, we recognize the dedication, expertise, and commitment of athletic trainers everywhere. Thank you for keeping athletes moving and teams strong.
