Bridgewater Retirement Community

Bridgewater Retirement Community Discover "energy for life" in a community that provides the support and opportunities to live your retirement to the fullest.

What we love at BRC is our sense of community. Enjoying the feel of small-town living, while maintaining our connections with the greater community is what makes Bridgewater Retirement Community such a great place to live. It's that welcome feeling you get when your neighbor greets you, when team members know your name. We are a comfortable neighborhood where senior adults (55 plus) can enjoy the benefits of small-town living while enjoying the freedom to make the most of retirement. The wide variety of housing and healthcare options in this lively Life Plan Community allows you to relax in the beauty of the Shenandoah Valley while remaining a close travel distance to the attractions of Richmond, Charlottesville, Roanoke, Washington DC, and other metropolitan areas. Set aside home maintenance and lawn care and free up time for your family, friends, and the pastimes you cherish. At BRC, you'll discover a wide variety of maintenance-free apartments, cottages, and cluster homes, set in gently winding streets with mature trees and beautiful landscaping. We've never lost that "old-fashioned" sense of neighborhood. People share an easy fellowship, caring about one another and enjoying activities when they choose. Best of all, living here lets you enjoy peace of mind, knowing you've secured your future in a comfortable, friendly community.

⚾️🎉 BRC SportsNetwork | Wiffle Ball Opening Week

Could we have asked for a better kickoff? Perfect weather, outstanding plays, delicious snacks, and a competitive spirit that was off the charts!

Opening Day results:
🧢 Birddogs defeated the Grandslamberts 16–8
🔥 Mow Money, Mow Problems edged out the Cheezters in a one-run thriller

Thursday's results:
🔥 Mow Money, Mow Problems dominated game one
🧢 Birddogs squeaked past the Cheezters in a close second game

Some of these great moments were captured by one of our players’ biggest fans (and dad), Joe Ritchie 📸

All of our teams put on a fantastic show, and we can’t wait to keep the momentum going all season long!

We shared a beautiful Evening of Gratitude together last week—one of the most meaningful moments we set aside each year to recognize and thank our donors. It was a powerful reminder of how generosity makes a difference across our entire community.

Thank you to our speakers—team members Abby, Patrick, and MJ, along with board member Cindy—for sharing the compassion, connection, and purpose that define BRC each day.

We’re also grateful to Chef Ben and our entire dining team for a wonderful experience, and to our Foundation team, Tammy and Missy, for the care and heart poured into the evening. Together, we celebrated the moments that make BRC so special.

“The longer I live at BRC, the happier I become.” A simple yet powerful reminder of what makes this place truly extraordinary. 💚🧡🩷

April is Parkinson’s Awareness Month, and we're excited to participate with the National Institute for Fitness and Sport () for Pump It for Parkinson's on Thursday, April 9!

This nationwide event brings communities together to raise awareness for Parkinson’s Disease and highlight how exercise can help ease daily symptoms.

Starting April 6, we’ll host a week of fitness programming on campus, including educational sessions and special fitness classes, all leading up to our NuStep-A-Thon. Residents and team members can contribute to the nationwide goal of 50 million steps through walks and other activity—so everyone can join in! 👟

Follow along as we step up and crush this goal! 💪

What an incredible turnout for this year’s art show, featuring the work of 26 talented resident artists through our Opening Minds through Art (OMA) program—a program designed to spark creativity, connection, and expression.

89 pieces, one incredible show! The energy in the room was undeniable as bidders hovered until the final moments, helping raise over $2,000. 👀🎉

Residents, team members, families, friends, and community members all came together to celebrate not just the artwork, but the stories, creativity, and purpose behind each piece. 👏🎨

We’re looking ahead to more sessions and more creativity, making next year’s show even bigger!
