Thanksgiving feast! Our team came together to celebrate the season of Gratitude with a delicious Thanksgiving Potluck! Everyone brought their favorite dishes to share and the table was full! Thank you to Agnes and her food service team for preparing our turkey! We also had a hot apple cider bar with cookies and donuts provided by Dharmi from Embracing Hospice and Sara from Generations Home Care. Thank you both for adding to our day of Gratitude and togetherness! It was the perfect way to reflect on all that we are thankful for!🦃🍎

We proudly celebrated Veterans Day with a heartfelt tribute to the brave men and women who have served our country. During lunch, our veteran Residents were honored with a special table of recognition and honor. They each received a gift bag that included a pin, socks, a stress ball, and tootsie rolls. In the afternoon, we held a touching program where each veteran was recognized. They each received certificates for their service, pins and handmade crosses crafted by veterans gifted from Reverend Dr. Nathan from Homeside Hospice, and an American flag, pin, and a handwritten thank you letter gifted from the Daughters of the American Revolution. Thank you Homeside Hospice and DAR for your wholehearted gifts! It was a beautiful day of remembrance and appreciation. Thank you to all who served! 🇺🇸❤️🤍💙

Mamma Mia! Our Residents enjoyed watching the movie “Mamma Mia”, while indulging in Greek gyros provided by Laura from Homeside Hospice! Thank you Laura! What a fun day to escape to the Greek Islands without ever leaving home! 🥙 It's all Greek to us! 💙

Our Residents had a sweet and fun filled time celebrating National Donut Day! They baked homemade donuts with Paulina from Life Home Care and the finished product was delicious! Thank you Paulina! Our employees also got to join in on the fun of National Donut Day with a donut and coffee bar! It was truly a sweet and delightful day! 👩‍🍳🍩☕️

We recently held our annual Mock Election for the New Jersey Gubernatorial Nominees! The race was between Democratic Nominee Mikie Sherrill and Republican Nominee Jack Ciattarelli. After all of the votes were counted, Jack Ciatarelli won with 24 votes, while Mikie Sherrill received 16. It was a close race here at the Avalon!

Our Residents had an unforgettable Halloween this year! They kicked off the morning with Sadie, one of our therapy dogs, dressed as Mike Wazowski! She spooked us all! Later on, our Residents enjoyed a Halloween themed lunch! Shoutout to our kitchen staff for their creativity! As our Boo Bash continued, our Residents were greeted by a Spooky Story Teller who shared spooky tales that had everyone laughing! We ended our Halloween party with a contest between all Residents and Staff! The goal was to guess how many items were in the jar and three lucky Residents won a cozy blanket! Congratulations Josephine, Ro, and Annie! Our lucky employee to win the $50 Amazon gift card was Maxine! Congratulations to all! We had a spooktacular day, Happy Halloween! 🎃 👻

Our staff came together to honor Breast Cancer Awareness Month with a fun and meaningful employee engagement activity! They enjoyed a homemade Pink Drink inspired by Starbucks, along with strawberry wafers, awareness pins, and stickers. It was a great way to support an important cause and to show unity in pink! 🎀✨
