✨ Self-Care Is More Powerful When It’s Well-Rounded ✨

Self-care isn’t one-size-fits-all and it doesn’t have to be complicated. Challenge yourself to choose one small self-care technique from each category and try to work it into your routine this week:

👟 Physical: Take a short walk, stretch, or prioritize rest
đź’™ Emotional: Practice compassion toward yourself or try stress-management techniques
đź’¬ Social: Reach out to a supportive person or set a healthy boundary
🌿 Spiritual: Spend quiet time in nature, journal, or try a few minutes of meditation

Small, intentional steps can make a big difference in how we feel - mind, body, and spirit. đź’š

Which category do you find the easiest to focus on? Which one needs a little more attention?

💚Team Member Spotlight: Meet Julie🎉

I’m honored to join the Pennock Center for Counseling team as the new Executive Director, where I bring over two decades of experience in mental health, education, and leadership. My background as a licensed therapist, clinical art therapist, and educator has shaped my holistic and inclusive approach to supporting individuals and communities.

Before stepping into this role, I oversaw the Boulder Strong Resource Center, a holistic healing and therapeutic center, supporting community healing in the aftermath of the Table Mesa/King Soopers tragedy of 2021. Bearing witness to the strength, connection, and resilience within that community was one of the most humbling and powerful experiences of my career.

At my core, I believe in the power of connection, creativity, and compassion to heal and transform lives. I’m passionate about building communities where people feel seen, supported, and empowered. Whether I’m collaborating with staff, walking alongside someone on their healing journey, or dreaming up what’s next, my work is always guided by heart, integrity, and a deep respect for every person’s story.

In my spare time, I enjoy writing, creating beautiful spaces with feng shui design, traveling and taking my cat Alfredo for walks in the neighborhood.

At Pennock Center for Counseling, our group counseling services offer a powerful way to work through life’s challenges in a supportive, guided environment. Groups are facilitated by a licensed therapist and provide a space to share experiences, receive feedback, and gain insight while being supported by others who understand.

Group counseling can be especially effective for those who value connection and want to heal and grow alongside peers facing similar challenges. You don’t have to do it alone. 💚

📣 Coming Soon! In January, we’ll be announcing new group counseling opportunities, stay tuned for more details!
