In 1983, President Ronald Reagan made an announcement that changed the public perception of hearing aids.

By speaking openly that he wore Starkey Hearing aids, he let people know they weren’t alone in their hearing loss.

That single act helped people feel seen, understood and worthy of help.

His courage helped create a breakthrough in a longstanding stigma that we are still working to overcome today.

This Presidents’ Day, I honor his example.

Original Post: ACSO needs your help to find a missing woman who has memory issues. 64-year-old Laurie Blea was last seen Monday around 11 a.m. at her home in Brighton. She was last known to be driving a dark grey Nissan Murano (Colorado plate DMRY96) and heading to Commerce City.

Laurie is 5’5”, 148 pounds, with grey hair and brown eyes.

Experts share worries about the possible effects of noise-cancelling headphones on hearing health, especially among Gen Z, as they gain popularity. According to studies, long-term usage of these headphones may be causing an increase in auditory processing disorder (APD), a problem in which the brain has trouble interpreting noises, making it challenging to follow directions or have conversations in noisy settings.
APD has historically been linked to ear infections or brain injuries, but it is now being seen in more young people who do not have these risk factors.
Regular use of noise-canceling headphones may "untrain" the brain to filter out background noise, which could cause serious listening difficulties, according to audiologists.
