It’s November which means it is also National Adoptee (or Adoption) Awareness Month .
I have long admired the adoptee activists and advocates who educate and share during this month and throughout the year. There is an emotional cost in sharing one's voice. I’m still learning how to tune into myself and honor my capacity for sharing in different spaces.
Which brings me to this post and picture. I had to go back pretty far in my photos to find a picture that wasn’t a flower, pet, kid or tree and this is what I found first! This is me wearing my “cultivating connection” shirt from and my kid’s cool light up glasses. Let’s call them x-ray vision glasses. 😉
Hey there! I’m Jeri Lea, an adoptee, adoptive parent and therapist specializing in attachment, infant and early childhood mental health, trauma and those with vulnerable nervous systems. That includes supporting adoptees and their families. One of the coolest parts of my work is helping young adoptees feel safe, seen and understood, with me but most importantly, with their caregivers and loved ones.
My deepest desire is to contribute to changing the ways we approach early relationship and attachment needs for very young children in care and adoptive families.

💛 For parents of amazing and complex kids 💛
Connection. Care. Community.
Come join us! ✨
This low demand (book) club is intended for parents, guardians, and caregivers who love kids with:
💛 neuro-complexity
💛 vulnerable nervous systems
💛 big behaviors
💛 or other unique needs that call for a different kind of parenting.
If you’ve tried all the things and found your way—wobbly as it may feel at times—you’re not alone. This journey can be isolating… until we find our people. People who understand what it’s like to parent an incredible kid who doesn’t fit the conventional mold.
I’m Jeri Lea Kroll, a therapist, parent, and former kid with a vulnerable nervous system. You can learn more about me and my practice here: www.JeriLeaKroll.com
My hope for this (book) club is to create a safe space for connection, community and learning.
And because I know parenting can be utterly exhausting, we’re keeping things low demand.
Starting in November, we’re lowering the demands even more and experimenting with a bookless gathering focused on:
*Connection
*Nervous system care
*Conversation around a shared topic (with an optional article or podcast if you want to dive deeper).
I’d love your input — what would make this group feel appealing and doable for you? Share your thoughts below or click the graphic (or scan the code) to learn more and complete the inquiry form.
I can’t wait to connect with you. 💛

Inspiring greater connection, health and joy in families with young children
Hi and welcome to my page! I am Jeri Lea.
I am a parent coach and psychotherapist and my passion is supporting YOU, parents with babies and young children, and your relationships with one another!
Our earliest relationships and experiences create the foundation for our ability to grow into the unique people we are meant to be. That can feel like a lot of weight on a parent’s shoulders. As a parent myself, I understand!
At the same time, I know that you are the greatest source of knowledge and healing for your children. Challenges (including developmental, emotional, sensory and behavioral) can often be addressed early and holistically (seeing the whole child within the family and community). Together, there is much we can do to uncover the meaning of your child's behaviors, reflect on and shift perspectives, parenting practices and strengthen your relationships.
I bring a holistic perspective to my work as a parent coach and psychotherapist combining more than 20 years of experience as an early childhood therapist and consultant with training in attachment, trauma, relational neurosciences, holistic nutrition, infant massage, movement and music. And as an adoptee and adoptive parent I also offer a unique blend of experience and perspective to those considering or navigating adoptive parenting.
On this page I offer curated resources to support and encourage parents, caregivers and professionals working within the infant/early childhood and family fields.
