🚨 🚨 🚨 The Difference Between Cosmetic & Medical Aesthetics…
At Belle Phases / Aesthetics By Rhiana, every treatment is intentional — not trendy.
Advanced medical aesthetics is not about devices, buzzwords, or social media hype.
It’s about understanding skin biology.
Before performing any treatment or recommending any skincare products, a medical aesthetician should be able to answer three non-negotiable questions:
1. Which skin layer am I targeting?
The epidermis, papillary dermis, and reticular dermis all behave differently. Treating the wrong layer — or the right layer incorrectly — changes healing and outcomes.
2. Which cells am I activating or suppressing?
Fibroblasts, melanocytes, macrophages, mast cells — every treatment alters cell behavior. Results and complications are determined at the cellular level.
3. Which biological cascade am I intentionally triggering?
Inflammation, proliferation, remodeling — these phases must be controlled, not guessed.
If a provider cannot clearly answer all three, the treatment is cosmetic, not medical.
Medical aesthetics means:
• Predictable healing
• Fewer complications
• Long-term structural results
• Understanding why a protocol works — not just that it does
This is why depth matters. Product choice matters. Protocol matters.
At Belle Phases, we don’t chase trends.
We practice intentional skin medicine.
