Sitter/Home Health Aide Spotlight today goes to Mellisa Anders, homemaker

It is a joy for me to see her in this role. She loves deeply, would fight for you in a heart beat, and goes above and beyond to make sure she does a good job.

Everyone give a big love to this post for my mama - She was my homemaker as a child - honored she gets to do the same for some my clients :)

Did you know home health aides provide an extra layer of support for patients receiving care at home?

Home health aides assist with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, mobility support, and light personal care—helping patients remain safe and comfortable between skilled nursing and therapy visits. They also play an important role in observing changes in a patient’s condition and communicating concerns to the care team.

This additional support helps promote independence, reduces caregiver burden, and enhances overall continuity of care—especially during recovery or long-term management.

At Grey to Glory, our home health aides work alongside nurses and therapists to provide compassionate, coordinated care tailored to each patient’s needs.

This morning I want to take a break from Spotlighting the sitters/aides and shine a BIG BRIGHT light on Grey to Glory’s Co-Owner….. Derringer Edwards

He has KILLED it over the last 2 months after some abrupt changes forced our family to make some adjustments. He has helped our company bring in over TWENTY referrals since January.

That may not seem like much to some, but we pray for at least 10 per month just to make sure our employees are paid and this month isn’t even over and he has helped us bring in over 20.

He goes out daily and promotes the vision God placed in my heart in 2019. He shines a light on what we do daily and all but begs them to believe in us.

How blessed am I to have this man as husband, best friend, co-owner, #1 supporter, encourager, and all things in between.

Everyone give a big “like” to Grey to Glory’s behind the scenes face ❤️

Did You Know? You Have a Choice in the Home Health Care Company that serves you!

Many patients and families are not aware that you have the right to choose your home health agency. While your physician or hospital may recommend services, the final decision belongs to YOU.

Choosing the right home health provider means selecting a team that aligns with your needs, values, and comfort level—whether that includes skilled nursing, therapy services, or supportive in-home care. You can ask questions, compare agencies, and request the provider you feel most confident with.

At Grey to Glory, we believe informed patients make empowered decisions. Our goal is to support you with compassionate, individualized care in the comfort of your home.

Did you know home health services are individualized based on patient needs and physician orders?

Every plan of care is developed in collaboration with the referring provider and tailored to the patient’s diagnosis, functional status, and goals. Services may include skilled nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and supportive in-home care—adjusted as patient needs change.

This individualized approach allows care teams to address medical needs, support daily functioning, and promote safe recovery at home while maintaining continuity and communication with the physician.

Taking a step of faith to step out and start Grey to Glory has been one of THE hardest things I have ever done. It has taken me so far out of my comfort zone that it’s difficult to even outline all the ways I have been tested physically, mentally, emotionally, financially…..

But do you know what I have learned in a world outside of my 501k and secure health insurance and all other worldly “securities”. I have learned to trust God. I have learned that my faith is stronger because of th deep waters he has asked me to go through. I have seen things happen and things be accomplished that I absolutely could not have done on my own.

We MUST stop seeing these deep waters as punishments. Often times God is leading us to deep waters to teach us. He wishes to teach us lessons that We simply CANNOT learn within our peace and comfort.

I read something this morning that brought this truth to life. In Exodus 13, I was continuing to read about the “EXIT” of the Israelites out of Egypt. As I read Exodus 13:17- 18 it says

“Then it came to pass, when Pharaoh had let the people go, that God did not lead them by way of the land of the Philistines, although that was near; for God said, “Lest perhaps the people change their minds when they see war, and return to Egypt.” So God led the people around by way of the wilderness of the Red Sea. And the children of Israel went up in orderly ranks out of the land of Egypt.”

Do you see what I did??? God COULD have led them a different way! He could have provided them a shorter (easier) route. But God NEEDED the deep waters to push them up against a wall where they would NEED GOD. God wanted them to get to that point mentioned later in scripture where Moses and the Israelites are stuck between deep waters (the Red Sea) and an army ready to kill them. He put them in an impossible situation so he could show himself in a way HE NEVER COULD HAVE IN THEIR COMFORT.

So this morning- praise through the valleys. Love through the heartache, and rest assured that God has got you. He wont let you drown. Just “be still”, put the staff in the water and follow the LORDS lead. Who knows , HE may split the waters for you too. ❤️

Did you know early home health involvement can help reduce hospital readmissions?

Timely coordination of skilled nursing, therapy, and supportive in-home services after discharge helps identify changes in condition early, reinforce care plans, and support patient safety at home. Proactive home health involvement plays a key role in improving outcomes and continuity of care.
