Because of the ongoing government shutdown and delays in Medicaid funding, Bristol Regional Speech and Hearing Center is facing an urgent financial strain. Reimbursements for the essential therapies we provide have slowed dramatically, and that puts the children, adults with disabilities, and families who depend on these services at risk.

We hope this article helps create some understanding, awareness, and acceptance this Halloween whether you see the blue buckets or not when trick-or-treaters show up at your house or Halloween event!

“Some kids can’t say “Trick or Treat” or “thank you”. They may not be able to make eye contact, and could also have sensory issues that prevent them from wearing an elaborate costume. For some kids and young adults with autism, there are a lot of challenges to overcome on Halloween, but like everyone else, they want to enjoy the fun and excitement of it.”

​Hearing aids come in many shapes and sizes from in-the-ear styles to behind-the-ear models. Our Center offers the latest models and styles as well as hearing aids with Bluetooth connectivity.

​We offer a 30 day trial period on hearing aid purchases. Our hearing aids are from a variety of manufacturers that offer the latest technology and we strive to accommodate all wearer’s budgets. Hearing aid manufacturers invest heavily in research and development to the hearing needs of the hearing aid user.

During this government shutdown, we’re asking for your help to continue providing high-quality, affordable speech and hearing services for adults and children in need. -We serve over 1,000 patients in Northeast TN, Southwest VA, and other local communities.
-Our center offers a special program for veterans to come in for exams and to get help with other crucial hearing needs
-As a neurodiversity affirming practice, we help families advocate for their loved ones
-We are one of the only places in our area that offers services for balance and other inner ear dysfunction issues as well as those for individuals with issues swallowing
-A portion of what receive for every service goes to help others who needs our services
