One of the professors in my dissertation committee was Christopher Peterson, one of the founders of the field of Positive Psychology. He was pretty much loved by all who knew him and he is missed (he died a few years ago). You've seen a quote from him in my emails:

“Happiness is a product of our pursuits, not necessarily the pursuit of happiness per se, but the pursuit of other things that make life worth living.”

Christopher Peterson (1950 – 2012), Psychologist, Teacher, Mentor.

"Foolish men who lay
Guilt on women, not seeing
You're the cause
Of the very thing you blame.

If you invite their disdain
With measureless desire
Why with they well behave
If you incite to ill

You fight their stubbornness
Then, weightily,
You say it was their lightened
When it was your guile.

In all your crazy shows
You act just like a child
Who plays the bogeyman
Of which he's then afraid...

When three of her friends were lynched in 1892, she investigated the murders and wrote about her findings her newspaper The Free Speech. As a result, her newspaper’s office was destroyed...

As the semester inches towards the end, some inspirational words:

"When you feel that everything is over
That everything in front of you is dark,
That all around you are leaving you...
It's time to leave the theatre, the movie is over."
