💼 Learning from Local Entrepreneurs! 💼

Our 8th-grade scholars had an incredible opportunity to hear from three inspiring business owners who shared their journeys, challenges, and lessons learned in building successful careers.

✨ Ann Marie Meehan (First Impression Salon & First Impression on Main) Discovered her passion for cosmetology in high school at a technical school and now owns two thriving locations with her own salon product line! She reminded scholars that even the subjects they least expect—like math and chemistry—can play a key role in running a business.

🔧 Mark McCalop (MCM Plumbing) Turned his interest in plumbing into a career after attending technical school. He emphasized the importance of teamwork and mentorship in the trades and encouraged scholars to consider hands-on professions with rewarding career paths.

⚓ Scott Rosado (M.R. Homecare & Primo Press) Started his journey in the Navy, later taking over his mother’s homecare business and growing it from 50 to over 700 employees! He also launched Primo Press to meet uniform needs for his staff. His advice? Relationships, choices, and continuous learning all shape success.

All three speakers highlighted the importance of passion, learning, and skill development, with Mr. Rosado powerfully stating: "You don’t have to go to college, but you do need to learn a skill."

For their time, all were given a cup with their company logo designed and made by Dr. Nagle!

What a valuable lesson for our scholars as they explore their futures! 👏
