Thank you so much for inviting us to Vet Fest. MPF is a non profit with the mission to decrease su***de among our SMVF by helping solve modifiable risk factors. We also provide su***de prevention talks to anyone around the country and engage in awareness activities such as flag installations. We prefer to work with other nonprofits working toward the same goal because there is lots to learn from other organizations.

Su***de prevention is something each of us can be a part of. If you think someone may be heading towards su***de DON’T be afraid to ask -
Don’t be afraid of referring them to someone trained in dealing with the difficult thoughts. Each of us can be the catalyst to change!

On March 25, 2025 the Matthew Patton Foundation will have helped hundreds of Service members, Veterans and their Families for 10 years. Much of that help is to reduce su***de by addressing modifiable risk factors for su***de. I will continue to do this for as long as I can, but it does take a toll. I want everyone to remember that I do a difficult job with a very heavy heart, constantly missing Matthew. But I do this anyway to save others and prevent another mother from living in this endless hell. However; when someone I help chooses to write nonsensical, hurtful and untruthful posts about what I have done for them, it affects me badly and I think seriously about quitting. March 26, Matthew’s birthday, starts our 11th year, but if things like this continue, I will close MPF. I cannot help this person anymore and that is sad. But my mental health matters, too.

We're happy to report that a bill has been passed for the $3 million VA short fall.

The Senate approved the legislation to cover the shortfall in Department of Veterans Affairs funding for disability and education benefits by voice vote, sending the bill to President Joe Biden's desk for his signature.

Lawmakers have until Friday to close a nearly $3 billion budget gap at the Department of Veterans Affairs to ensure millions of veterans and their survivors receive their monthly benefits on time in October.
