The AAP recommends placing babies on their back for every sleep because: šŸ’¤ 😓

• Back sleep significantly reduces the risk of sleep-related infant death, including SIDS, compared with stomach or side positions.
• Sleeping on the back does not increase choking — infants’ anatomy and reflexes protect them even if they spit up.
• Back sleeping supports safer breathing and helps guard against re-breathing exhaled air or overheating.

If you have questions about your infant’s sleep, reach out to us! We are here to support you!

🚨 Important Recall Information🚨

Our office wants to make you aware of a recent U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recall involving certain children’s ibuprofen products.

šŸ‘¶ What’s affected?
Children’s Ibuprofen Oral Suspension (100 mg per 5 mL)
4 oz (120 mL) bottles
Lot numbers: 7261973A and 7261974A
Expiration date: January 31, 2027

āš ļø Why was it recalled?
Some bottles may contain foreign material (including gel-like substances or small dark particles).

🩺 What this means for your child:
This is classified as a Class II recall, meaning serious harm is unlikely, but it’s still important to take precautions.

āœ… What you should do:
• Stop using the product immediately
• Check your bottle’s lot number
• Return it to the store or dispose of it safely
• Contact us if your child has taken this medication and you notice anything unusual

POV: You fixed the diet and suddenly… the meltdowns decreased, the energy leveled out, and bedtime got easier.

As a pediatrician, we see it all the time, when we reduce added sugars and focus on balanced, whole-food options, kids feel better. Steady blood sugar supports steadier moods, improved focus, and more predictable energy.

Think simple swaps:
• Water or milk instead of sugary drinks
• Protein + fiber at every meal
• Whole fruits over processed snacks
• Balanced plates with lean protein, healthy fats, and complex carbs

Small nutritional pivots can deliver big behavioral wins.

If your child is struggling with their nutrition, let us help! Schedule online today!

šŸŽ’āœļø Is your child starting Pre-K or Kindergarten this year? Big milestones call for smart preparation and a pediatrician-approved game plan.

The transition into the classroom sets the tone for a healthy, confident school year. Here’s what families should prioritize:

āœ… Schedule a wellness visit. Ensure required school physicals are complete and immunizations are up to date.
āœ… Check vision & hearing. Early screening helps prevent learning challenges before they start.
āœ… Build sleep routines now. Consistent bedtimes improve focus, mood, and immune health.
āœ… Practice independence skills. Zipping jackets, opening lunch containers, and handwashing all build confidence.
āœ… Talk about emotions. Normalize first-day jitters and reinforce coping strategies.

A proactive start supports academic success, emotional resilience, and overall well-being.

šŸ€ Spring & St. Patrick’s Day Safety Tips for Kids:

1. Helmet Up! – Bikes, scooters, and skateboards need proper helmets and pads.
2. Watch for Traffic – Longer days mean more outdoor play; remind kids to stop, look, and listen before crossing streets.
3. Playground Check – Make sure playground equipment is safe, dry, and free of hazards.
4. Sun Protection – Hats, sunscreen, and sunglasses help prevent sunburns during spring outings.
5. Stay Hydrated – Warmer weather = more water breaks, especially during outdoor activities.
6. Lucky Footwear – Shoes with good grip prevent slips on wet grass or sidewalks.
7. Costume Safety – Leprechaun hats or festive accessories shouldn’t block vision or cause tripping.
8. Allergy Awareness – Pollen season is here! Keep antihistamines handy if your child is sensitive.
9. Buddy System – Whether hunting for shamrocks or exploring the park, kids should always have a buddy or adult nearby.
10. Emergency Plan – Teach kids how to call 911 and share their address; safety first, luck second!

Share these tips with 3 fellow parents you’re excited to do fun spring activities with!
