Honors student Kalena Eaton had the incredible opportunity to present her research at the Society for Personality and Social Psychology annual meeting in Denver this past February!
As part of her honors thesis, Kalena worked with Dr. Ratcliff to explore how the race of both officers and victims in excessive use-of-force incidents affects perceptions of justifiability and punishment. Through a series of participant studies, Kalena uncovered valuable insights into these complex dynamics.
This semester, Kalena expanded her research to include a larger, more diverse global sample via an online platform, gaining new perspectives and a deeper confidence in her work. We’re so proud of Kalena’s dedication and growth throughout this project, we can’t wait to see what comes next!
