Broken Arrow has lost one of its most dedicated champions.

Joe Robson devoted his life to building communities, strengthening institutions, and investing in the future of Broken Arrow and the Tulsa region. Through years of service on the boards of the Broken Arrow Chamber of Commerce and the Broken Arrow Economic Development Corporation, including serving as Chair of both organizations, Joe gave generously of his time, insight, and leadership. He believed deeply in the importance of thoughtful planning, strong infrastructure, quality housing, and expanding economic opportunity.

Joe helped guide conversations, projects, and policies that improved transportation access, strengthened utilities, and supported responsible, long-term growth across our city. He understood that economic development is not about quick wins, but about laying a strong foundation for families, businesses, and future generations. His steady presence, collaborative spirit, and commitment to doing what was right for the community left a lasting mark on Broken Arrow.

We are grateful for Joe’s service, his friendship, and the legacy he leaves behind. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Robson family during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Tulsa Area Salvation Army or a charity of your choice.

Last week, our VP of Economic Development, Amber Miller, visited Solar Turbines headquarters in San Diego as part of the Tulsa Regional Chamber’s Southern California marketing trip! ⭐

Business retention and expansion visits, even out of state, are a critical part of supporting our existing companies, understanding their needs, and identifying opportunities for growth and investment in Broken Arrow. Solar Turbines has a location right here in our community, and we were excited to meet with their team at headquarters to learn more about their operations and explore ways to continue strengthening our partnership and regional economy! 💪

Broken Arrow’s continued success is no coincidence, it’s the result of data-driven decisions, strategic partnerships, and an unwavering commitment to progress! ⭐

As Aldwyn Sappleton emphasized during his presentation, “Communities that understand their strengths grow their strengths.” Broken Arrow demonstrates that principle daily. With a population now exceeding 122,000 residents and a median household income of $85,220, our city represents the balance of livability and opportunity that businesses and residents alike are seeking!

By aligning with state-level initiatives, such as those from the Oklahoma Department of Commerce, Broken Arrow continues to grow its economy while preserving its strong community identity and proving that sustainable growth starts with knowing who you are! 🤩

The BAEDC is proud to have our Director of Workforce Development and Talent Attraction, De'Andre Fahie, representing Broken Arrow at the NORA Learning Lab this week! 🤩

The session brought together leaders from across Northeast Oklahoma to dive into data driven hiring strategies that boost retention and build a stronger, more resilient workforce. Dr. Kyle Fee from the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland shared standout insights on hard to fill manufacturing roles, the growing talent gap, and how benefits tie directly to job quality.

De’Andre returned energized by the real world examples of skills based hiring and the collaborative conversations shaping the future of our region’s workforce! 💪
