Today at Franciscan Villa we turned a simple block into a big thank-you. In honor of National Lego Day we surprised every staff member with a handcrafted Lego animal — a tiny reminder that the smallest pieces, placed with care, build something strong, warm, and full of heart.
To our nurses, caregivers, kitchen and maintenance teams, activities staff, and everyone who shows up with kindness every day: your creativity, patience, and teamwork are the foundation of this community. Even on the wildest, most chaotic winter days, there’s something grounding about slowing down and finding joy in the little moments. Between the bad weather, the snow piling up, and the nonstop pace of the day, we carved out a few minutes to just be…. laughing in the cold, making snow angels like kids again, and scooping up fresh snow to turn into the simplest, sweetest ice cream.
It’s a reminder that even when life feels hectic, there’s magic hidden in the small things. Sometimes all you need is a little snow, a little laughter, and a moment to breathe.

When the roads were white and the wind was howling, Ruben didn’t wait for instructions, he put on his coat, started his truck, and went out to bring our team to work & back home safe. Through the snow he drove, not for recognition but because people matter; he even stopped for energy drinks so everyone would have a warm smile and a little extra fuel to get through the day.
