Valentine’s Day is right around the corner! Now is a perfect time to show some extra love to the seniors in our lives. Whether it’s your parent, spouse, grandparent, friend, or neighbor, here are simple, meaningful ways to brighten their day this year:

✨ Bring by a bouquet or plant to brighten their day. You can shop locally for flowers at the The Garden Center or Custer Floral!

🍫 Share some sweet treats! It’s even better when locally sourced from debbiedee’s Ella & Jacks Home Bakery or Triple B Bakery!

OR head on over to Broken Bow Floral & Plant Studio to get a candy AND flower bouquet! 💐

☕ Treat them to a favorite drink or a cozy coffee date from Ollie’s Coffee & Boutique Ortello Dale or Howdy Coffee Co.!

Our seniors have given so much to us and to our community so this year, let’s show them a little extra love, and support the local places that make Broken Bow feel like home while spoiling our residents!❤️

🚨 With dangerously cold temperatures gripping Nebraska, our senior neighbors are especially vulnerable. A little extra care can make a big difference in keeping them safe, warm, and healthy during this extreme cold.🚨

We have compiled a list of resources below and here are a few simple ways you can help:

🧤 Check in regularly! A quick phone call or knock on the door can catch problems early and ease loneliness.

🔥 Make sure homes are warm! Confirm furnaces are working properly and space heaters are used safely.

💧 Encourage hydration & nutrition! Warm meals, soups, and fluids help maintain strength and body temperature.

🚪 Limit unnecessary outings! Ice and frigid air increase the risk of falls and hypothermia. Offering to pick up groceries or prescriptions can be a huge help!]

🧦 Layers, even indoors! Warm socks, sweaters, and blankets help prevent dangerous drops in body temperature.

He brings steady leadership, a strong sense of responsibility, and a genuine dedication to putting people first, treating everyone with dignity, and showing up when it matters most.

Matthew steps into this role carrying forward the values his grandmother built this company upon.
By honoring the past, Matthew is also focused on the future! He is always listening, learning, and leading with intention as Custer Care continues to grow and serve our ever expanding community.
