So proud of our BBHS FCCLA members, Blake Whitfield and La’ney Jordan, for representing us at FCS Day at the Capitol in Oklahoma City! 👏

Day one was all about travel and team bonding — complete with arcade games, bowling, and some delicious pizza to kick things off. 🎳🍕

On day two, they spent time at the Oklahoma State Capitol participating in advocacy training and meeting with Eddy Dempsey to discuss the importance of Family & Consumer Sciences courses and FCCLA organization. They also had the opportunity to view a Senate session from the gallery and tour the beautiful Capitol building.

What an incredible experience in leadership, advocacy, and representing BBHS so well! ❤️💙

We are so proud of our BBHS Culinary students for the incredible job they did preparing dinner for Parent Teacher Conference on Thursday night! 👏🍽️

These students worked hard to create a delicious, from-scratch meal for our staff, including:
🍝Baked ziti with homemade sauce
🥗A fresh salad bar with homemade croutons and ranch dressing
🥖Garlic bread
🍪Freshly baked cookies
🍫Chocolate and vanilla mousse cups

From prep work to presentation, they showed professionalism, teamwork, and true culinary talent. It was a wonderful way to serve and support our teachers during a long evening of conferences.

Way to go Savages! 🖤💛

Competition was tough, and every one of our competitors did an amazing job—scoring high and giving it their all. While not everyone placed, each student showed professionalism, preparation, and confidence, and that’s something to celebrate. 💪👏

🥇La’ney Jordan - Say Yes to FCS

We’re also incredibly proud of Maddy Seavey, Jordyn Nichols, Casey Kelley, and Jailynn Zamudio who stepped up to volunteer as timekeepers—your willingness to serve and support the organization truly reflects the leadership and character of our program.

A special thank you to Mr. Cox for safely getting us there and back and for volunteering as a judge, and to Rhonda Guthrey for tagging along and serving as a judge as well—we couldn’t have done it without your support!

Win or learn, every experience helps our students grow, and we couldn’t be prouder of this group. ❤️

Journey Cole, a sophomore, represented Broken Bow High School at Oklahoma FCCLA State Officer Interviews today in Stillwater. Cole was one of 38 contenders vying for a position on the State Executive Council. Students were interviewed, tested over FCCLA facts, and presented a one-minute speech within their region. Cole successfully advanced to general interviews and also recorded her speech as part of the selection process. In the coming weeks, results from the general interviews will be announced, including which candidates will be placed on the ballot to be voted on by Oklahoma FCCLA members in April. We are SO proud of her accomplishments thus far and can’t wait to see her journey continue!

Today we had the privilege of taking some of our officer team shopping for the Cozy Kid Campaign hosted by Bennett Elementary. Our officers loved picking out warm, cozy items for local students and truly enjoyed the opportunity to give back to our community. ❤️🧣🧤

We also grabbed some fun prizes for our upcoming Holiday Hangout at the Alpaca Ranch. Next week, our FCCLA members will spend the afternoon with the residents creating memories, spreading cheer, and serving others.

We are so proud of this group and their servant-hearted leadership! ❤️🤍

BBHS Culinary students continued their veggie education today by chopping, dicing, and mixing up some fresh salsa! 🌶️🍅 From garden to table, they learned how simple ingredients can make a big flavor impact. Even Mr. McGee couldn’t resist joining in—and rumor has it, his salsa was almost too good to share! 😄🧑‍🍳

🥬 What better way to learn about the different kinds of lettuce than by prepping a salad! Mrs. Anderson’s culinary classes enjoyed making a fresh salad containing various lettuce types such as romaine, green leaf, and red leaf lettuce. They also prepared fresh croutons and homemade ranch! They enjoyed their work so quickly Mrs. Anderson didn’t get the chance to snap any pictures with their salads 😋 🥗
